Almost all books limit winners in some fashion. As for it being legal, books are private companies, they can institute whatever rules they want. You have the option of continuing or ceasing to do business with them.

Pinnacle, Greek and Bookmaker are all A+ books that will NOT put limit collars on players.

I beat them up bad I won 8k at 1k max bet. This caused my limit to be 500, I took them for 5 more k. I placed a 500 bet and lost, this caused them to cut me to 250. That whole family of sites is not the place to bet 500 or more on sports. pussies........

Not saying you were steam betting, but nearly every book will limit you or cancel your account for betting steam, even the big books from what I have read on the forums.

                        BoL,

legal lol. i think the law is irrelevant in all offshore books. bet at bookmaker or dsi, they will never turn down a bet. if you like REALLY high limits then just request for it.
