Las Vegas Sportsbook Lines compared to Offshore books
Does anyone know what online sportsbook would the typical sportsbook in Vegas have lines that are similar? For example, for baseball matchbook is the best for getting the best odds. Then you have Bookmaker and the greek who uses 20 cent lines and books like BetJamaica who get better with 10 cent lines. Are the vegas books lines similar to bookmaker? They cannot be worst can they?

Also, for nba and nfl games, is the spread usually -110 on the spread or do they juice it like they do online and do they juice it even more? For example, a game might have Jets at Chargers with the Jets +3 in an online book for -120 and Chargers -3 for +100. Do vegas sportsbook sometimes make the +3 for the Jets into -140 sometimes?

Vegas casinos generally use 20 cent lines for baseball. An exception is the Gold Coast casino, which has a 10 cent line (I believe up to -150).

They use the -110 each way for football and basketball, but sometimes adjust the odds to favor the dog or favorite.

Bottom line, you're much better off using Matchbook and 5 Dimes as long as they're still available.

I get pretty close to instantaneous payouts without having to go to Vegas ... and from all accounts get better odds in the process

There are some soft odds in Vegas for baseball, you just have to know where to look.

Come on, man. You don't have to drive to the casino, park, go in, wait in line, cash, go back to your car and drive home? Or is that your idea of "instantaneous."

And you don't have to pay taxes on Vegas winnings? If you say no, then why do you say yes to offshore winnings, either? I mean, tax fraud is tax fraud. What's that old line?

If you keep a couple of books, you can usually find good odds for baseball. For those of us with no access to local casinos, the online option is a good one.

Very few books in Las Vegas have 20c baseball lines. Making the Gold Coast sound special, which it certainly isn't in any way, just makes you sound dumb.

I don't win enough at the books for it to matter. Too many bad habits.

Avoiding taxes would be easier with Vegas books because it's all cash. Not as easy with checks from online books.

Well while we're on the subject, I'm getting my first online check from Bodog this week, but I've redeposited with them at least twice that I can recall. For tax purposes, can I claim the losses too, or am I stuck having to just claim what I win? Any help is appreciated.

Offshore all the way. No getting into a hot car, putting up with traffic, not able to watch games at my house, less betting options.. Click of the button and I have everything I need. As long as I know that I'm going to get paid, I don't mind waiting 2-3 days.
