Damn, Yesterday I get an email from verizon announcing the Droid X. How can they roll out a new phone when they havent even shipped the latest model. I thought I was getting the latest/greatest from Verizon, now I some how feel ripped off.

I currently access a credit book, and Vip.com on my BB curve. I hope to be able to access Heritage, 5Dimes, Betjam on my new Droid.

I am going to try and cancel my droid incredible order and get the droid x. It either has or will have support for flash 10, i assume it will enable many more web pages.

The added wait is only a week, after ive been already waiting 3+ weeks for the incredible.

Thanks donny, I will try it when my Droid X comes in, not sure if verizon will allow dolphin as they dont allow opera, can the droid be unlocked or something? I dont know anything about unlocking but have heard of it.

While most sites work ok with iphones, bb's, etc. It really is a much nicer experience on a site formatted to work with mobile browsers. Bet365's new mobile site is the best I've seen so far. It isn't very hard to format a site for mobile use. Don't know why some sites don't offer it yet.

OK... for all your Droid questions... Let me start off by saying that up until a week ago I used to work for Verizon Wireless. So I am very familiar with these phones.

If you want the Droid X instead, call Verizon and they will cancel your order for the Incredible and get you a Droid X instead. Both are great phones.

The difference: The Droid X's 1Ghz processor is SLIGHTLY faster than the Incredibles. The Droid X is made by Motorola, not HTC (which makes me say the Incredible is your better choice). The Droid X has a 4.3" display (which is f***ing HUGe... can I say battery sucker?). The Incredible is slimmer, and in my opinion, sexier. The Droid X has a mechanical shutter on the 8.0 MP camera, so it takes the pictures much faster... it also records in HD quality. It can act as a 3G Mobile hotspot for up to 5 devices at a time, although you have to pay more... And there are apps like "PDA Net" that let you tether for free. But most importantly... the Droid X will have flash 10. Which means almost all websites will work beautifully... including sports betting sites. Any other questions I can answer for any of you?

Yes. The HTC Evo 4G is another one of the wonderful Android phones. It is a great piece of hardware, and it IS 4G capable (which is fantastic, IF you happen to live in one of the relatively small areas that supports 4G... I don't.) It is comparable to the Motorola Droid X in that it has the 8 MP camera, a 4.3" display, and records video in HD quality. It also has a Mobile hotspot feature with an unlimited allowance, if I remember correctly (to be fair, Sprint is not my strong point... they have terrible service in the part in WI where I live). The edge, DOES, in my opinion though, go to the Droid X, for a couple of reasons. Although the HTC Evo DOES support 4G, Sprint's 4G is actually slower than Verizon and AT&T's 3G (doesn't even beat T-Mobile... and that's downright atrocious). Furthermore, Verizon really does have the best network... less dropped calls, more bars in more places, and all that. Many people rant and rave about "3G" and "4G" and they don't even know what it is. 3G and 4G is a measurement of data connectivity. If you are in a 3G area, you will have web access. If not, you will have voice and text. Verizon's 3G is... well, just about everywhere there is civilization. Sprints, although better than AT&T's... not so much.

The Motorola Droid X also supports Blockbuster Mobile, which will allow you to have access to full-length movies on your phone (with rental fees, and unfortunately only in a wi-fi area). But one big perk that almost ALL Verizon phones have over other carriers (at least for us sports handicappers) is NFL Mobile. The NFL and Verizon have a partnership which lets you have all sorts of NFL goodies (for free) on your phone, as long as the device is supported (meaning... your phone isn't older than the stuff you have stashed away in boxes when you moved into this house in the 90's). There are a couple other minor differences, but for the most part, the phones are pretty comparable. Sprint is a little cheaper... but both run Android 2.1 (soon to be Android 2.2... can't WAIT) and will support Flash 10. I personally would go with the Droid X over the EVO because of Verizon's network.

As for the Incredible... Also comparable to the EVO and the Droid X, but doesn't have quite as many features. However, if you're looking for a phone that is a little smaller, and won't suck battery life at an astonishing rate, it may be the best option.

I don't THINK so, but I'm not sure... As a customer service rep, I was never really trained on jailbreaking phones, lol. Now with that said, I believe the answer is no, because unlike most carriers, such as AT&T with its all-powerful iPhone (that was sarcasm), Verizon doesn't use SIM cards except in global capable phones. This is because there are two types of networks in the world: CDMA and GSM. CDMA networks are the superior one, but GSM networks are more common (because they are less expensive for the company). You need a SIM card to run on a GSM network. Verizon's network is CDMA here in the good ole' US of A, so they don't use SIM cards in their phones unless it is needed for global travel (because most of Europe runs on a GSM network) like with the Blackberry Bold.

Yup. With Verizon, $29.99, gives you unlimited KB usage, unlike the iPhone, where you now pay $25 for 2 GB of usage, and then $10 for every GB after that. To put that into persepective, I have a Motorola Droid (the old one). I use roughly 7,000,000 KB in a month (although I use my phone for research, email, facebook, downloads, videos... quite frequently). There are 1024 KB in 1 MB and and 1024 MB in one GB. That means if I had an iPhone I would have about 6.7 GB of usage/month. So... I'd be at ($25 + $10 + $10 + $10 + $10 + $10) for a total of $75/month JUST for my internet usage... and that's before calling and unlimited texting. Holy cow... that'd be a big bill. Since we were just talking about the HTC EVO with Sprint, I will also mention that Sprint give unlimited data for approximately $30/month as well.

I can't make any promises as I'm not one of the developers, but I will say this. Right now, the Droid runs Android 2.1 and does NOT support Flash 10. In the very near future, Droid will run Android 2.2 and WILL support Flash 10, which will almost certainly solve your problem.

Matchbook doesn't work well on android system, such like evo. You can log into your matchbook account, but can't place bets. The system takes so long to access to the wagering area.

Just to clear some things up. Opera mini is available for verizon phones like the droid, droid x, incredible on the android market. You can also try dolphin browser and skyfire (mobile version of firefox). These are all in addition to the stock webkit based browser. Try appbrain.com to see what apps are available on the android market. Full flash 10.1 is not available on the current adroid operating system (2.1) but it will be available on 2.2 (nicknamed froyo) which should be pushed to phones at the end of the summer (likely late august).

Atat iphone data plans suck now. Verizon still does have 29.99 unlimited data for smart phones but they will transition to tiered data plans like atat eventually.

My BAD, Opera mini now does work on my verizon bb curve, it didnt work when i first got it 1.8 years ago. Able to access Heritage and Betjam, a bit slow and tedious though.

Just got the Droid x in, works great so far for betjam, heritage, vip, BCC, havent found a site that i couldnt access, even works for sbr sportsbook. great phone, getting used to the touch screen is difficult, it seems too sensitive, always clicking on links when trying to scroll, texting was a bitch at first, but im getttin better. You Tube looks great.
