Prop dispute feedback wanted — SBR Mailbox
Book offers "Where will Lebron James sign?" prop.

Lebron agrees to a sign & trade with Cleveland, and goes to Miami.

    How should this be graded?

The book wrote a bad prop. They should pay both Cleveland and Miami.

He signed with Cleveland. How could Miami get paid?

Once again you have a sportsbook that does not know what the hell they are doing. If the prop says where will Lebron sign, Cleveland is the winner.

Take a sportsbook like 5Dimes that knows what they are doing. Prop: Which team will Lebron announce that he is going to on Thur. Cut and dry. No ambiguity.

Correct. Props need to be worded clearly and concisely, in this case, the sportsbook claimed "the markets were posted with the intent of where he will end up".

All Cleveland bets are winners. Hopefully, they will be resettled.

I'm curious now. What if a book says "What team will Lebron sign with to play the 2010/2011 season?"

Is there a specific sign and trade contract that he would have signed with Cleveland or would he have signed a regular contract with both parties being aware that he was to be traded immediately?

Agreed. But a Miami bet should not be graded as a loser, as this was not the spirit of the wager. If the book had any class at all, they would pay both Cleveland and Miami winners, and learn from their mistake for next time.
