Here's the quick and dirty:
---
I signed up for a Bodog poker account.
When you accumulate 100 points, you get a $10 bonus, when you get up to 500 points, you get an additional $40 on top of the $10 you've collected and so on and so on. They give you 50 points to start off when you've created your account and made a deposit.
I just reached 500 points and I ask support to give me the $40 bonus (had to ask support to get the $10 as well).
They are saying that I have only "earned" 450 points and that the 50 points does not count towards the bonus. I filtered through their T&C's and scoured their website to see where it says that the 50 points given does not count towards the points accumulation. I couldn't find it.
I asked them to send me links to show me this, which they did. However, when I opened the pages, there was no mention anywhere that the 50 points wouldn't count towards the bonus. By the way, I had already found these pages previously myself.
Nowhere on their site did it state that the 50 points doesn't count towards the points accumulation. They've changed the rules as they go on.
---
That's the story, you be the judge. I've read about the gimmicks these guys pull and this doesn't surprise me at all. I've read on these boards that these guys change lines between accounts, ie. you get different lines when logged in and logged out, LOL. Talking with their customer support is like talking to a wall. It took me 20 minutes to get my first bonus issued, it should have been issued automatically.
This is why I'm all for this industry being regulated. Regulation would deter these nickel and dimeing gimmicks and we wouldn't have to put up with BS from books located halfway across the world.
My 2 cents on Bodog. I tried them out and I'm never going back.
