BetOnline - SCAMMED! Unreal behavior from a 'top book'. Funds essentially STOLEN?!

I have mostly been using US books because I live in IL. Currently working in MO so can't use those IL state options right now, so have been using mostly Bookmaker. I was wanting to do a teaser yesterday and remembered that BetOnline has more teaser options so wanted to go there. Games started in less than an hour so figured I didn't have time to do bitcoin since I would need to buy it and send it, etc... Look at their deposit options, they have credit card and Echeck as well. Tried to do credit card, my debit card is a Discover and the processor said the transaction failed. OK no big deal. I do the echeck option, it gives me a limit of like $1,000 and I just deposit $450.

It's approved, and then I have to click a button saying I understand its going to be charged from 'xxx' shell company they use and that I understand I'm being charged a ~$20 'processing fee'. I accept and continue.

    Funds credited to my account.

Bet placed, shows in pending wagers with a ticket number. All like normal.

Bet wins, but this morning, I'm showing a zero balance.

I get on with customer service, they say 'I can indeed confirm it was credited Brandon, but was subsequently voided and hence the bet getting written off.'

I'm sure it wouldn't be 'written off' had I lost.

The manager is now telling me that 'your account only receives cash deposits such as crypto, **, etc'

Well 2 weeks ago when I made a crypto deposit they sure accepted it and when my bet lost they didn't have any problems. Now that it's a different format it gives them permission to steal from me? So at this point they took the deposit money, took my bet credit and winnings, and want me to accept a TEN DOLLAR CREDIT for the 'inconvenience' are you kidding me?

    What should I do here??

'Insert image' not working. Proof of accepted ticket and incredulous explanation:

What recourse do players have at present for being stolen from/taken advantage of?

I started a thread in Sportsbooks section already: https://www.sportsbookreview.com/for...ly-stolen.html

But I haven't had an issue that needed to get resolved in years. Does this site no longer have the player advocacy area where players were given help when they were wronged by a book?

I thought that was one of the main purposes of the site, and maybe I just don't understand all the options in the current format of this redesign but what are my best bets after having been stolen from by BetOnline?

I know alot of things have changed but what is the best way for us to get help or protection in the current sportsbook market?

If your deposit was really refunded, then they were right to void your bets (regardless of outcome) as you had insufficient balance to place those wagers. Under the rules, bets placed with insufficient funds are void (regardless of whose fault is it). So the real question is whether your echeck bounced (was refunded) as they claimed.

It was approved. Plenty of funds in my account (over 3K). The system could have either taken the option away or declined it. Not only was it approved, but it took me to another screen where I had to click that I understand and accept the ~$20 fee and that some random company name was going to be the charge in my bank records. It was apparently approved by my bank and by them.

The funds were credited to my account.

The bet was accepted on their site.

No contact from them saying there was a problem or they needed to cancel the bet or anything of that nature.

It wasn't until this morning (after I won) that suddenly we have an issue.

Ok but if the bet had lost you wouldn't have lost anything as you got the deposit back as they claimed. So basically you are making a risk free bet that if you lose you don't actually lose and if you win, you win if they honoured the bet. It is great that you are honest and are willing to deposit back the amount of the bet to cover the bet but surely they cannot assume that every customer will be honest and pay the amount back when funds were credited on error. So their policy to void bets with errorneous funds I think is reasonable.

I don't believe they would have credited the funds back if I lost. They waited to see if it won or lost, and then determined what was better for them. Again I don't think you're paying attention to the facts. The deposit option was offered, ACCEPTED, then CREDITED, and a bet ACCEPTED and given a wager ticket number. At NO point did anyone contact me or even a pop up message or a system alert that my deposit had any issues.

They took the money out of my bank, took my bet, let it win, and NOW claim that the deposit had an issue (which it didn't, the funds are there, they had no problem taking them from me).

Do you work for a book or something, lol?

Is there an issue/complaint section anymore or who would I email? It’s no longer a clear priority in the site design so it’s not obvious I’m sorry…

Ok I’ve also got the smoking gun now that clearly proves that this was a malicious act with intent to steal from a player. Didn’t occur to me earlier because I was so mad.

Their entire justification for saying this bet was void is that my account ‘was always supposed to be crypto only’ which makes no sense to begin with.

However, 2 weeks ago I was able to make a CC deposit WHICH WAS ALSO APPROVED. But I made my bets and LOST. I was NOT refunded or had my deposits voided out!!

ONLY NOW has my account been ‘fixed’ to only allow crypto deposits!!!

So they can’t have it both ways! If my account is truly crypto only then they owe me those two credit card deposits back on top of the echeck refund.

But if they want to keep the funds from the bets that lost, then they also have to honor the one that won and pay me my winnings.

This is now proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that I’ve been scammed by a ‘trusted book’ here. How can I get some help with this??

As syjytg says, IF your deposit was really refunded or rejected is the important part.

You have not said yet if it has been.

Is the $450 in your bank?

Does your bank account show if it ever left your account?

So this all took place last night. I’ve done echecks before and they always take a day or two to appear in the account balance. As of now, I don’t see the charge yet.

However, as my last post indicated. This doesn’t matter because two weeks ago they took two cash deposits with no issue and sure didn’t refund those.

By their own words, my account is not supposed to have cash deposit access? It’s supposed to be crypto only? Then why did they accept those last 2 deposits (after a losing wager) and now it’s only an issue after I win?

As of now my account only shows crypto deposit options. For months I’ve had CC and echeck. So either they honor them all, or none of them. In either case I’m owed hundreds of dollars.

They can’t have it both ways. Either my last 2 cash deposits also fall under ‘cash’ that didn’t get refunded and need to be, or if they want to keep those funds and honor those losses, then they need to honor yesterdays win as well.

Ok thanks. It would be tough to argue they are wrong about the payment rejection as far as a complaint case without any sort of counter evidence.

But I'll ping a manager to ask if he can check what you were told, and check this thread for your argument about the payment method changes, if you would like to PM me your BOL account #
