    (diverted discussion from WagerHub thread)
The fact is that this book openly advertised in forum threads. Where one might normally have expected that type of material to be removed, it was never removed for WH. Moderators let it go.

Just stating facts. Look it up if you don't remember or believe me.

FTR, this was in player's talk at the time. Not in promotions where, apparently, it has since been moved to.

WH didn't "openly advertise". They ran a promo that many of us benefited from and discussed, but I wouldn't consider that to be normal advertising.

        The thread is: http://forum.sbrforum.com/sports-pro...b-real-p3.html
Link may not work. It was in player's talk for at least a month. Let me quote from it...

I knew that this book was full of sh*t. As expressed in the same thread. But if advertising of this nature is allowed, in player's talk, obviously some people are going to think that is with SBR's approval.

A lot of people, myself included, profited from their original no deposit promo. They would later disappoint badly for some that chose to deposit there, but not allowing forum members to openly discuss WagerHub would be censorship, IMO.

OK, guys. Fine. If you think that a book advertising falls under 'forum members discussing', have it your way. Crazyglue is right there with you.

The thread was eventually moved to promotions. By the way. After players where getting stiffed...

Fact is, many Books use this forum to advertise. Bet911 and RebateWager come to mind. Also, to a lesser extent, your buddy Alex has been promoting his BOL book in recent threads. You could make a case for moving all of this to promotions too. I don't care one way or another as long as it's consistent.

As long as it's consistent? So some joker decides to call himself a book, advertises on the forum in the manner as quoted above, and that's the same to you as someone from Wagerchief communicating here with forum members?

It's not about being consistent, but about reliability. Somebody at SBR realized this, after which the thread, belatedly, was moved to promotions. The oversight was thereby admitted. But how many people deposited in the meantime, as a result of that ad?

I'm moving this discussion to another thread within the Industry forum to prevent the thread from being hijacked.

Dark Horse, it's true that books that aren't contest sponsors are not permitted to promote their brand inside of this forum. Moderators cannot view every post created. If you ever notice something like this occurring, (which you obviously did, and it's appreciated), hitting the Report Post icon will allow a mod to spot the infraction and move the posts.

Players talk has nine listed moderators, this thread was around there for about a month, and nobody noticed? C'mon.

Anyway, please do list yourself as the person who opened the new topic. I never asked the particular question.

It went on for months in several different threads.

                        Yes, you're right durito.

This advertising issue is very relevant to the WH problems that arose. I'd really like to know what SBR's official position is on this, because I refuse to believe that SBR, which has long held books accountable, to the benefit of us all, will not hold itself accountable for such an obvious blunder.
