    Bodog SCAM

Bodog is refusing to pay my winnings (marginally below 16 000 CAD). I placed some bets on a basketball match, won and on the next day Bodog cancelled my bets and locked my account telling me that the bets were placed late (past post/ late betting), which definitely was not true.I asked them to check once more with other reputable websites, the official game data, the video of the game (which was up and running on youtube) and see that everything was fine, however, they refused to do so. Every time I contacted them they told me to contact another department, as they are not "responsible" for that and the other department does the exact same thing. No matter how much I call them, how much I write, they always tell me to contact another department putting me in an infinite loop of contacting "the wrong" departments. Conclusion is only one: Bodog tries to steal my money by making a false accusation and not even trying to explain or give a detailed explanation.

What are the chances of every 1st time SBR poster, (whose primary language isn't English), all correctly finding the Sportsbook and Industry forum and then posting SCAM in capital letters rather than asking for help? Uncanny.

he seems fluent in english. maybe he was able to find this forum because hes not a complete moron and can read the forum descriptions? he also posted this in bitcoin sports betting so it doesnt seem like hes that familiar with sbr to me. if what he said is true, then bodog did scam him intentionally or unintentionally.

If you submit a sportsbook complaint form SBR can ask a manager in there who is responsible to double check what has happened here.

"Conclusion is only one: Bodog tries to steal my money by making a false accusation and not even trying to explain or give a detailed explanation." - that's Google Translate and not fluent English.

If he's not a moron, (your description not mine), and he reads this forum he'd know most threads here have a link to an SBR complaints form posted in them. He didn't ask for help or say he'd filled in a complaint. Instead he posted crap against a book. He's permitted to do that and those of us who read this forum are also free to comment on people who exhibit that behaviour. Mostly people respond the way I did because we know threads like this get added to Google searches. Unverified accusations like this can influence people who try to research legitimate books into going with a smaller book that is far worse but has a lesser number of complaints.

I didn't comment on the op's claim or the book in question. I commented on the op's behaviour, and it was a fair comment.

i guess it could be google translate but the rest of it seems too good compared to translated stuff i usually see. why do you assume he reads this forum? he posted this in the bitcoin section also and if you read this forum you wouldnt post this there. he probably just googled bodog scam and sbr is the first thing that came up.

Is Bodog Becky still around?? I would assume this guy made his bet past post, and is trying to stir stuff up.

    Hello SBR members,

As you might have guessed I'm pretty new to the forum and haven't had the chance to get familiar with it in detail. I apologize if this is the wrong section and / or if there is a misleading (word in) title but this place is sort of my last resort. I also apologize for poorly structuring and messing my thoughts up above, it was quite late when I posted here and my brain was not functioning properly.

To all that have assumed I had indeed made late betting: I had not. I would gladly take a screenshot of the bets BUT as mentioned in the original post, Bodog has locked my account and I have no further access to it.

After the incident the first thing I did was calling the support. They returned my initial deposit and refused to make even the simplest investigation (e.g. check the live game data, 365bet or other reputable sources). All the bets were placed a decent amount of time before any changes took place (10-15 minutes at least). Another fact that is worth mentioning: I had only used half the initial deposit to place any wagers. Why would I do that if I were to abuse the system? I would have used the whole deposit and gone all in instead.

Now the ridiculous part. After 5 calls with 5 different support members I was finally told I could contact their dispute department at "complaints@antiguagaming.gov.ag". What they didn't mention is that this email is invalid. 30 minutes after sending an email I receive the following error every single time:

"Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:
    complaints@antiguagaming.gov.ag
There's a problem with the recipient's mailbox. Please try resending the message. If the problem continues, please contact your email admin."

The last support member just told me to send a paper mail. To their "Dispute department". Which is on Antigua and Barbuda island. Like really?

To wrap this up... They have stolen my legitimate winnings - plain and simple. And I am 100% sure they wouldn't cancel my wagers had I lost the bets. This is quite shocking for me as I have only heard good stuff about Bodog. The support members were NOT helpful. They didn't even try checking the scores and times of bets. That is so mildly inappropriate, I can't even find words to describe how frustrated and disappointed I am. The thing is that they can easily do that, it's a matter of few minutes. They just don't want to, because they know I am right. Not to mention this non-existent "Dispute department". You might as well try sending a blank email to this address and see for yourselves that I am not lying, and this address is posted on their website under regulations section.

Is there anything I can do to make them pay? Any suggestion is welcome.

    Regards.

You mention Bodog make false accusations.

And you talk about bets being placed "10-15 mins before changes took place".

But haven't told us what accusation or what changes you mean.

    What exact bets are involved?

Why don't you post a copy of Bodog's words with these false accusations and maybe I can help explain what's going on, or give an opinion for you.

Right now, no one here can tell if you have a real problem or not.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

I had placed bets on a basketball match long before it started, won those, then during the half time placed another set of bets (again, way before the second half started). Was lucky and won those too. Everything was fine until about half a day later my wagers got magically cancelled and labeled as "past/post". But they clearly were not, and again, I would gladly post a few screenshot but I am locked out of my account.

As I have said earlier, their accusation is "late betting". And they do not even want to check or double check the game data, that's just their cowardly way of not paying my winnings. Every single support member just starts repeating over and over again that I've made past-post bets and do not want to listen. When I ask them to check the results, their respective timing and the timing of my bets, they simply do NOT and repeat the same sentence again and again, something like:

"I am sorry but our decision is final yada yada ..."

They simply do NOT verify, they do NOT cooperate, the only thing they do is repeat the sentence above. I mean, okay? You are clearly wrong, why won't you just check the damned data - "Decision is final" - Please, do check the data and conduct an investigation - "Sorry but our decision is final". There is no way I can get past this stupidity.

Again, late betting did NOT take place, all the bets I had placed were not even close to being labeled as such.

    Regards.

    Hi,

As sad as it is, I have already realized that. I'm just trying to figure out a way to make them pay. Isn't there any regulatory institution I could contact?

    Regards.

If you send in a sportsbook complaint form we may be able to have a Bodog manager to review the decision for you.

    Hi,

Thank you for the suggestion, I had already filled a complaint form but will do it again.

As for the "+1 channel", yes I'm absolutely sure as I was watching the game live on youtube and did check the timezones and time differences prior to the game (although that did not matter at that time as the content was being streamed live).

    Regards.

    Hello,

Thank you for pointing that out. That's exactly correct, but I did take it into account and placed the bets around 20 minutes earlier or so if I recall it correctly.

If you bet a "halftime" line that THEY had up, and then they came back later and told you that it really wasn't halftime, then what is their reason/excuse for having the halftime line up for wagering in the first place?

Oh well, like I've said 200 times on here, once you send your money overseas to strangers, then they can cheat you ANY time that they want to, and you can't do a damn thing about it.

I hope I never send another dime overseas to a bunch of strangers and then "hope" that they don't cheat me if I win!
