    could i have done something?
    Aloha guys and gals,

I was just wondering about a situation that happend to me last year. I opened an account with BetUs and deposited a small $130 bucks. Deposit went in fine so I placed a 4 play parlay on 2 NBA games. I took Spurs(+6) to win outright @ the Celtics and I took the under. I also took the Lakers(+3 or 4) to win outright @ the Cav's and took the over on that game as will. So I it all 4 plays and won a little over $5,000. I was stoked. I log in the next day to check it out and my winnings was in there. A couple of days later I logged back into BETUS to place a few bets and my account was not working. So i called BETUS and they told me that my account was closed because I had link/relation to a player that owed them money. This person they spoke of I did know him. He was a roommate of mines while I was in the military. I shared a house with 3 other co-workers and 2 of them played sport book's online. This was back in 2005-2006 I have not spoken to or seen them since I got out of the military and moved back to Hawaii in March of 2006.

For about a month I went back and forth with BETUS about this situation. It was not going nowhere for me. BETUS gave me back my $130 3 days after I opened my account and told be that I will not get my winnings unless my former co-worker pays off HIS debt. They told me to contact him and have him pay. I told them I'm no longer in contact with him and don't have anyway of contacting him. The last time I spoke to BETUS I requested that they take what he owes out of my winnings (he owed 4k) and lets go from there. I would have rather get 1k+ then nothing at all. But they said no.

So that's the just of it. I know its out of reach being it happen a year ago but I'm just curious if there was something I could have done? I'm bout to open an account somewhere else and try again (even though the wife says no lol). I have never tried sports betting since then but wanna try again.

Thanks in advance and sorry bout the long read. Anyone has a suggestion on where to play?

Probably not...if someone from your IP address did a ********** (which is what this sounds like) they're going to assume fraud...You could have (and still could) fill out a complaint form and had SBR state your case. If BetUS was in one of it's periodic too-many-people-talking-too-much-shit-about-us-we-better-dial-it-back modes they might have ironed it out.

I would file a complaint, see how it goes. The link is pinned on the top of this thread.

How did your friend get a debt with them? Did he do a **********?

How did you pay them? Did you use a credit card as well?

And how would your IP still be the same as it was back then if you moved back to Hawaii?

It also doesn't make sense that if you opened the account last year, they could link you to people you knew 2-3 years ago, unless you used one of them as a referral... you certainly can't have been using the same IP if you didn't know them any more...

im not sure how my roommate paid.

i paid using my debit card.

i have no idea. i think they was just saying as much as they could to not pay me later they came back and said they link me when they did a security check and seen my old address and it ad the same time lines/dates from when my roommate lived there.

Given my experience with BetUS it doesn't surprise me in the least they'd know someone opened an account from the same IP address with a scammer and took the deposit anyway figuring they'd just freeroll the person making the deposit.

What kind of security check? Sounds like a credit check to be able to see old addresses, but wouldn't you have to give specific permission for that on a deposit account?

And even if they saw your old address, why would they then refer to the IP address, not the former mailing address as the reason? Sounds odd.

apparently, Betus.com is finding an excuse to scam you, because you won more than thousands in a short period.
