Curious - BetOnline.ag - Fruadulent bets placed on my account last night

Hello - I was curious what steps I can undergo to recover funds that someone fraudulently bet on last night while I was sleeping. No one has my account number and I regularly change my pass. It was on live tennis betting, of which I couldn't tell you that last time I made on of those, and it wiped my account clean. The following tickets are below. I removed the ticket number because I'm not sure Im supposed to show that. But all of the wagers were losses, which makes me suspicious. They were also way outside my typical wager amounts for the most part. Though I had been betting more on strong World Cup favorities at times. But none live wagering. The times listed are eastern, I wake up after than time pacific. I was curious what recourse I might have? I've heard of David Ferrer before, but never of the Berretini, nor Jordan Player. Please, help! Thanks in advance. Oh - I am just boticing that they were place and graded at LOSS the very same minute placed. Something isn't right about this.

I had similar situation. Someone hack my willhill account and place like 30 spins on slot machine and roulette (every spin/hand equal like 50e)
On 30 spins only 2-3 where winners. I never do anything beside sports betting on that account. And must say that WilliamHill return every cent. Of course I must ask contact customer support to review this situation, and after few days they return whole amount.
General advice, passwords must be different for each site. Probably one of the sites where I have same password was hacked. And then bots going with those data everywhere (even in betting sites). So that is reason for bookmakers like pinnacle have also unique usernames.

Most of my bets are between 50-100$ a piece, I don’t ever really bet on tennis. I’ve never even thought to put $2,000 on a game, much less a tennis bet, of an in set bet, of which I don’t know who both the players are! The most obscure thing is that the bets were made and graded, with the same minute, and maybe even within the same second, so it makes me think is has to be something of a possible flaw of a person or persons on the inside...someone with access to inter-company information with split second betting and grading access. Has anyone ever had a bet graded within the same minute or second it was placed?

Wow hate to think it may have been an inside job . But if noone has your info how else can they do that. Although like someone else said maybe someone hacked your e-mail. Hope you get your cash back after they look at it.

Ive never seen anything like this happen..and ive been on gambling forums for years...not saying it didnt happen to you but...how and why? Would someone do that? If a site was gonna do an inside job and mess wit someones account id imagine theyd go for someone that has a huge bankroll and stays winning(not saying you dont) to keep them from cashing out but even then it seems so far fetched..and yea ive had wagers graded almost instantly before thats nothing suspicious, and i used betonline for years

I’ve used BetOnline for years as well, and not issues. But with this it seems like if someone hacked their account, and nailed 2000 net lost, at 8:13, graded 11:13(time zone)... then placed exactly 500 net lost, 8:25 (11:25), then instantly placed the remainder of my account of 400 for a let loss just seconds later.... how would they know what my account balance was? And if they did, couldn’t their software detect a wager replaced that was over my available balance? The numbers are just far too weird, and again, I was asleep! I wake up at 6pm PST and these wagers were placed between 5:13 and 5:26 PST. There is nothing for a bit to gain out of wagering losses on someone’s account because they can’t retrieve winnings. There is only the house to gain from someone’s gambled earnings be drained by intentional losing bets instantly betting by and having them graded. Remember, this is 3 bets... not one. The odds of someone placing a bet and having an outcome be determined and graded within seconds of the wager, must be astronomical! All I’m trying to say is, can I run this up the flag pole and get a true official at BetOnline, maybe Dave Mason, to review this or am i going to have to go through all sorts of hoops with ‘we are very sorry for the inconvenience...etc.’ and it come to no end. I already have submitted a complaint with BetOnline, and also a complaint for with Sportsbook review.

It's gotta be an inside job. I knew a guy who got wiped out years ago where they cleaned him out in blackjack in the middle of the night. They were playing like $500 hands & tipping the dealer hundreds on each hand even when the hand lost. He was shit out of luck, they gave him the money back in free play wagers, I don't remember the book.

Would it be possible if these won, that someone on the inside could have the money transferred out to somewhere else?

Im always leary when posters say "while i was a sleep" and it does seem odd that if hacked or inside job they would place those wagers...but i will say the board has had many many betonline hack or inside jobs that players where in most cases reimbursed for....most cases w poker or casino chip dumps and never a clear explanation from BOL on what happened...but then we have the friend who was over while i was sleeping i forgot about that pops up at times...please update us ty

UPDATE, MONEY RETURNED TO MY ACCOUNT: I was called by the security department on Friday and asked a few quesitions. How often do you bet on tennis(I told him I haven't made a tennis wager in maybe 6 months - last bet was something during the US Open last year, so more like 9 months), have you traveled anywhere recently(nope, haven't been more than 20 mintues from my home in months) have you used public computers recently(don't use public comptuers), have you used apple or windows, what system is your phone - apple(apple) or other, what system is your computer apple or windows(windows), do you play poker(yes) or casino(no). Then he said he would run it up futher to the next deparment or level of the investigation. I got a call yesterday and it was the same gentleman that had asked all the questions and he said they have completed the investigation and will refund the 3 wagers to my account within 10 to 15 minutes..and it was. .....and then he said, 'We just ask one thing, please change your password every month from now on, and make it as difficult as possible'. He didn't give me any other details regarding whatever they uncovered during the investigation or how they came to their decision, but whatever it was justified that they were fraudlulent wagers. Probably a bot of some sort? I don't know. But great and timely job by the folks at BetOnline.ag.

Nice! I would never think a book would return the funds. I'm always hesitant to believe anything with these stories because the player usually blows his bankroll, and then makes up a story to try and get it back...etc.

Hats off to BetOnline.ag for doing the right thing.

The only other explanation I can think of that hasn't already been posted is if the book opened a new account and gave the new account holder the wrong account number...and the wrong account number was already in use. You might consider asking the book to change your account number just to make sure there isn't more than 1 active password for your account.

Over the years, there have been more than a couple odd issues that look like they are caused by insiders. Most of them have been reported here. I think in all of them, BOL investigated them, and reimbursed the player. Best would be to have good inside fraud prevention. Absent that, at least they handle the occasional fraud pretty well.

Another available safety precaution is using a virtual keyboard for accounts that deal with money. This helps to counteract against malware/spyware that logs your keystrokes.

I know, right? It's what they all say. Just be honest. Losing bets were placed when I was drunk.

This happened to me with betonline back in March. First time they refunded me no questions. It happened again a few days later and after “investigating” they decided I had made the wagers and kept my money. And yes, I changed my password after it happened the first time.

Same situation —they were wagers on sports I don’t usually bet in amounts much higher than my average wager. Not sure how or why they decided it was me doing it but I haven’t been back since.

A number of years ago employees were getting passwords and taking from customer accounts by dumping it on poker to their buddies. I believe BOL was one of the worst places for that. They finally recovered their reputation, but I recall for a time that nobody would play there. This is really disappointing to hear that it happened again. Glad they returned your money. I don't think they can afford another scandal like the previous one.

I am disappointed and concerned to hear that washhead did not get the same treatment the second time.
