In what way is Matchbook "more reliable" than Betfair?

I use both and can't think of anything other than liquidity on US sports (and commission rates) where Matchbook wins out.

A lot of knowledgeable guys with a lot of experience have positive things to say in this thread, and this is Matchbook afterall so I'm sure in this case there are no concerns. But overall, to always take a sportbook at it's written word? You surely can't be that naive, can you?.....
The guy asked how much does it cost to get paid and how much they pay out at a time and how quick they payout. Three questions. I answered how quick and admonished about the other two because the answers can be found on Matchbooks homepage. Not sure why I wouldnt believe a sportsbooks homepage about how much they payout and the cost of their payouts, now time and reliability are different and I said as much, not sure why I am naive, there were 3 questions asked and only of one of which required forum member experience.

Johnny, my point is just that you can't always take a sportbook at face value. Depends on the book, of course. Pinnacle; Greek; BetFair and I assume Matchbook...These type of books pay out pretty much in the time frame stated on their sites. Other books, and there are plenty, take massively longer (if at all) than the time frame stated on their sites.

Anyway, no worries. Good luck on your plays Johnny 55...

Matchbook certainly blows away Betfair in US sports, and occasionally on 3 way lines in the largest soccer leagues on account of their lower commissions, but for people betting non-US sports it really isn't even close. I emailed Matchbook years ago asking if they were ever going to put up handicap betting on the major soccer leagues and they said they didn't have enough market makers to do so. Tough to bet a game when you want to fade the favorite who's -470 but the best you can do is take the other team +.5 +450 instead of +2 or whatever Betfair, Pinnacle, etc. are offering.

              Stumpage-

Read this thread from the beginning. I have repeatedly said that the legitimate question asked was how long do they take to pay out? I answered that question, at least to my experience, in the first post on this matter. You, and the guy who originally posted his inane questions jumped on my back about being naive about the info on a sportsbooks homepage. My point is simply this, I understand you cant take a sportsbook's info at face value, I said this in previous posts, but the original posters question was how much does it cost to withdraw money and what withdrawal options do they have? Two questions that can be answered in two seconds by the info on Matchbook's page, the question that couldnt be answered, how long does it take to get their payout, I answered and others did as well.

Just read the questions and place the statements in context. Not that hard.

If one isn't playing at Matchbook, they shoudn't even be playing offshore.

Getting money out of Matchbook is relatively painless, getting money in is a bit tricky.

OK just going to go over this once and post on it no more on it no matter what response you give. I will break this down as easy i can

To your statement that reading a books site will tell me what my payout options and costs are....

YOU ARE WRONG SIR. Some sportsbooks have other payment options that are not put on their website. One book I am playing at now (a sister site of a sponsor here) has just this situation I have mentioned. I get the feeling that some books prefer you get paid a certain way. That was the kind of information I was looking for when I posted the question. With different payout options come different costs as well. I don't know how else to say it without flaming but you don't have a clue.

one can only deduce from that statement that you have no interest in anything played outside of the US or Canada.

Right, there are other options elsewhere, but not on Matchbook. Matchbook only offers 3 way lines on soccer and only recently began offering totals and a couple leagues outside the EPL, Serie A, and La Liga. (They now have 6 or 7 other leagues.) So comparing MB to BF is basically apples and oranges, they cater to two different markets.
