To be fair the OP might be European where those terms are not used.

Straight = Single Bet
Parlay = Multiple Bet (on two or more different markets)

Parlay is multiple bets together in which you have to get every game right to win the bet. Straight is pretty self explanatory.. its just a single individual bet.
