OK, I bet $70 on NHL Tampa Bay @ New Jersey, I took Tampa Bay +195 on Matchbook. I accepted someone else's offer. I got this pick off of Sports Insights Premium Pro.
They won 4-2.
I did not get paid, the bet pushed.
I had noticed that Tampa bay was ahead 3-0 from watching sbrodds.com, but then I saw "suspension". I figured, crap, this will be a no action wager. I go to ESPN, article "Lightning finish off Devils in suspended game". From reading that article, now I see that the Lighting in the stadium went out, that's why there was a suspension, and then the game continued 2 days later.
SportsInsights is showing it in their BestBets records as a win.
Is Matchbook trying to screw me or is this the standard rule on MB? All it says when you go to the Hockey page is "Markets settle on final score (including overtime). In case of an OT tie, the shootout winner is awarded ONE extra goal. All open offers will be cancelled at the start of the game (except for futures or series winner markets)." EDIT: It also says, "If a match is suspended before becoming official, and is resumed at a subsequent date, all bets will be void. " I guess that applies here.
I just got really freaking unlucky, right?
What are the rules for when games in different sports besides hockey get suspended on different books & matchbook? This is nasty a surprise I did not anticipate.
I emailed accounts @ matchbook.com I guess they'll just reply with that clause. Damn!
