Comeback sportsbook of the year: Bodog?

Previously rated A+, Bodog hit tough times in 2008, stemming from processing resources taking a huge hit and before that, the legal issue causing them to lose the domain. In 2009 they started contending for fastest paying book, got the domain back, a spot on the Recommended List and opened to Canada. All in all they brought it in 09 and never stopped listening to customers, posters, and SBR when it couldn't have been fun to answer the phones. SBR congratulates Bodog.

Unfortunately there aren't too many nominees. I know Justin would toss a vote to BetUs because of their CS manager, Jake. For 2010, I'm hoping WSEX is the clear winner.

I used to enjoy Bodog-----I actually became a player at Bodog when they bought out Bowman's US customer base------I may give them some play to test the waters again.

BoDog has very good customer service, software is pretty good, the payouts are getting better and more consistent and the lines do favor dogs a tad if you like that. The teasers are generous also.

Bill I agree. They have definetely come leaps and bounds and have been ressurected from the duldrums of a failing system. They are def. back on the block and are to be trusted again. No More Clavin mucking it up for them I suppose.

I beg to differ, I've been with bodog for about a year now. I like playing poker on their site, but as far as sports betting, they get an F, if there was a worse rating I would give it to them. They don't have all the bets you can imagine, on a college b ball card they post about 3 to 4 o/u plays, very little money line bets, and the one that irks me the most is that they don't follow their line posting schedule, they have this famous category called "added games" in which they won't post that line until about an hour before game time. They put red circles on a lot of these games along with others, meaning u can't tease, parlay, round robin etc. etc. I went back and forth with customer service about these issues when finally just throwing in the towel. The only positive thing i can say is that they do cut u a check pretty fast on payouts.

I always thought they had the most attractive site an interface. We all know the poker was good as well. If they could just operate the sportsbook better and stop using those square, off kilter lines I would definitely give them another shot. Haven't played there for years, since Calvin was in charge.....

I play at Bodog and like it but there are a few complaints that frustrate the hell outta me sometimes...

The red boxes.
Lack of MLs.
Cant buy points (only when offered the hook).
The lines are released very late.

How safe is the assumption that CRIS would never let them fail?

On a positive note, they allow horseplayers to take bigger shots at the smaller tracks with no odds limits, just total payoff limits of $5k per race. Most other books will limit either the amount you can bet or limit the odds to about 300-1 on exotics.

No real issue with them. I've been with Bodog and only them for 6 years. Except for last year's payout issues, everything has been pretty smooth. I left sportsinteraction for them. I (too) would like to see the lines up earlier, so I'm looking to add 2 more books in the coming months.

Those squred off lines piss me off so much. Those are the best ones to bet on, no hype or commercialized advertising of those games. Red lines and o/u, and hardly any 1st and 2nd half bets

Bodog is crap. Their moneylines come out after 5pm and when they do the juice is too much. Example from last night: Detroit Pistons +425, San Antonio Spurs -650.

Actually, I think they do. There is a long thread here that they answer questions in, you can try it. I am not as comfortable with them as I was before Carl left, but they offered me 25% cash 6X and I like the -107 on most everything, including halftimes.....

Ok ok, they do payout quick, but if you deposit using a credit card, oh my hoops and bounds u have to jump through. Copy of credit card front and back, copy of ur I.D. front and back, then a form u print out, put over ur credit card and have to lightly pencil over the numbers. Once u get that all squared away, payout are quick
