PinnacleSports debited from my account immediately upon deposit

Customer Service contacted me back only to say that their Risk Department removed funds because they had identified an IP I used being used in another account. Again, I have never opened another account. I have no roommates and I have a secure WIFI network.

This is a joke.

This is a no-no. You and how many other people, legitimate or otherwise, might be using this proxy?

If you need to gamble from work, get an Aircard or something like that and use a laptop in the crapper. Everytime the line changes, you can grunt and moan and nobody will be the wiser.

Why would you use Tor? Not only do you share the IP adress you also have the risk of people eavesdropping on your connection, and how does "shared my IP with some other Pinnacle client" not make sense? Two or more people create or use accounts while connecting through the same Tor exit node, sounds like sharing to me.
I feel sorry for you, but I can't blame Pinnacle for picking up on this.

Yes they removed a past bonus on a new deposit. Probably not the smartest to use Tor but best way to avoid it being picked up at work. Still though, fact is that I personally never "shared my IP with some other Pinnacle client." It's not different from me hacking into someone's WiFi connection who also happens to have a Pinnacle account. And their methods are still shady. Why not remove the deposit months ago when it was first received? They wait until a new deposit to essentially steal new money.

man, do you know what is IP and how you can share it?
it has nothing to do with your wifi and the IPs that you use in the home or office network

if you are using proxy, vpn or tools like that and you have not prepaid dedicated IP, then you really by definition share your IP

this is ****ing stupid policy by Sportsbooks and we will see more disputes in future, but we must live with that

sportsbooks have to offer their own VPN for clients instead of silly bonuses

Yes I know what an IP is, and yes, someone who "hacks" into your wifi, which literally anyone can do in under 5 minutes if you are running 64-bit WEP, will be able to exploit your IP address. Which is why I think such policies are archaic and the very least I would have preferred some sort of heads up and not to have my book essentially steal funds from new money that I deposit into my account. Had they taken it from the bonus funds months ago, I would not have had a problem with this.

update us, i am pretty sure many people including me used IP address of another gamblers, while on way with laptop

there will be many many people using tor and abusing the bonus, pinnacle is more concerned about bonus abusing, since 500 usd is nice and they have the best reputation - we can see it on WR that was raised from 3 to 7x

As much as I rate Pinny the best book online by a country mile, on this IP issue they are not in the right. Do they not know that most ISPs (In the UK at least) operate dynamic IPs where every time you turn off your router you will be assigned a totally different IP address. This means that there is every chance of getting an IP address that has already been used by someone else logging into Pinny.

And also what is wrong with using a proxy/tor/VPN. If you are at work you may need to, and if you are on a public WIFI you should only log in via a secure VPN unless you like your account to be emptied by a hacker.

Surely by asking for ID as Pinny do, this will easily bring up any issues of duplicate identity fraud.

Books seem to have no idea how IP addresses work, and why clients need to log in from VPNs etc sometimes to protect them AND the sportsbooks from fraud.

sorry, but for someone who seems to know a lot about computers, using a "proxy" to login to a betting account is a pretty stupid thing to do for multiple reasons.

in general, i agree it's remotely possible multiple users get assigned the same UP through dynamic IP's. The chance of this happening is still extremely unlikely though, yet every few weeks someone else is coming forward having his account suspended because of a shared IP, which is consequently always blamed on proxies, dynamic IP's, even IP-hijacking apparently or whatever. Not saying that you are, but the odds any person with this kind of complaints was doing multiple accounts and got caught is infinitely bigger than the chance someone really is an unlucky victim
