Yesterday I tried using live help for the first time while logged into my Bookmaker account because I had a question about one of my teasers. The live help operator asked for my account number and my password. I provided my account number but I refused to give my password.
From my experience gambling online on both poker and sports sites this seemed like a highly unreasonable spot to have customer service request my password. In fact the poker sites I play on (PokerStars and Fulltilt) specifically state that their customer service representatives will NEVER ask for your password.
I was not requesting any private info about my account nor was I making a withdrawal request. I just had a question about one of my teaser tickets and I was already logged into my account from the same IP I always use.
Is this normal for Bookmaker customer service to expect me to give my password just for asking a question about one of my bets? This might just be Bookmakers method of helping customers but it seems like an unnecessary breach of security. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.
