    Betzest.com - Source of Wealth
Betzest is asking me for Source of Wealth from the time I bet with them which was from 20 Nov 2018 to December 2019. My Betzest balance is 0€. I explained to Betzest I 'broke' my term deposit on 27 Oct 2018 - which had 25k in it and this money was sent to my bank account. This means I'd enough money to deposit with them and I proved it was from my term deposit break (this money wasn't all going to be used for betting, I needed a new car at the time).

I sent my bank statement to Betzest showing my 'Term Deposit break' and this money was in my bank account. The point is I'd 25k available to me BEFORE I opened my Betzest account and this money would've covered all my deposits with Betzest thereafter for the next year!!!

I've been sending emails back and forth to Betzest to try and get this resolved but their initial email said:

This is a reminder that, Betzest is obliged to collect the Source of wealth and source of funds documentation from customers before it can proceed with any further deposit/withdrawal requests once the €2.000 threshold has been reached. If you fail to send the requested information and documentation till the end of 26/05/2021, Betzest may take all necessary measures, including but not limited to suspending your account indefinitely and withholding any funds held by Betzest, including deposits, winnings and bonuses. We at Betzest strive to uphold the highest standards in complying with our regulatory requirements so that we give our customers the peace of mind and freedom to enjoy the products we offer in a safe and secure environment.
The thing that worries me is when they say:

Betzest may take all necessary measures, including but not limited to suspending your account indefinitely and withholding any funds held by Betzest, including deposits, winnings and bonuses.
But not limited to -Are they saying if I can't satisfactory prove my income over the time I bet with Betzest they can take this further? My account balance is 0 with them?! Can they take me to court or make me pay money back? Do they have any legal power/authority over me if I don't resolve this fully to their satisfaction?

When I sent them my bank statement showing my term deposit break in .jpg format they replied to me saying:

May we kindly ask to provide the document in PDF format, you can cover any information you find necessary. As soon as you provide such a document, your account will be fully verified and you can continue enjoying our games and numerous products.
I obliged and emailed this document in PDF format and they said:

Thank you for your patience and collaboration. We have checked the documents you recently submitted. May we kindly ask you to provide a recent payslip along with a bank statement in which your salary is visible or any additional documents that you find helpful to verify the source of income? Additional documents may be required in the future.
    Then I replied:

Hi there,I've provided you with enough information! Now you're continuingly harassing me!!You said "May we kindly ask to provide the document in PDF format, you can cover any information you find necessary. As soon as you provide such a document, your account will be fully verified and you can continue enjoying our games and numerous products. My account should be fully verified now after what you said in your previous email!!I've already provided proof I broke my term deposit with 25,000 NZD!! This is my source of wealth. If you want to ban me from Betzest please do so because I hardly use your site nowadays. Please stop harassing me or else I'll report Betzest to the Gambling Commission and/or other forums where other bettors will know about your harassing behaviour!!
Everything I've said to them (proof via bank statements etc) wasn't getting thru their thick-skulls!!!

Finally, I've told Betzest I bet with other sportsbooks while I bet with them. This meant I could withdraw my winnings from these sportsbooks which would be considered "income" and that "income" would be used to deposit into Betzest. Lastly Betzest said:

Would you kindly ask your betting sites to provide you with an official GDPR document in a PDF format? Your income has to be consistent with the deposit made to Betzest.
I'll try my best to get other sportsbooks onboard with proof of winnings/income to send to Betzest etc.

Any recommendations for this situation pls? Are Source of Wealth requests going to become more common in the future?

    Disturbing post

    Most certainly yes

This hasn't hit the USA yet, but it a pretty reasonable assumption that it is going in that direction.

God help us all if the offshores ever get forced out of business. You will need a urine test, a background check, and proof of your source of funds to bet on NFL Sunday.

Dude, don't worry. Nothing will happen at all. If I had no balance, I wouldn't even respond to those requests.

Go on? Pretty sure Europe is miserable right now and locked down over a cold. I’ve been enjoying my life because I like freedom. What you got?

why Betzest needs source of income for a zero balance account?? Something is shady here. It makes no sense. I would not sent them anything myself and tbh, you were very polite to your response.

Vivaro Group did the same. Sponsobet and STS asked me for SoF/SoW when my account was already limited and inactive for around half a year.

It has something to do with MGA's stricter AML guidelines. It's just weird that most of the MGA books still give a F, regardless of whether a player deposits more than 2k or not.

Crypto exchange Binance U.S. froze my account for a SOW inquiry. I cashed out as soon as I could. Stay away.
