#73Fair enough. You guys definitely know more than me how this works. So in your opinion, assuming i personally did nothing wrong, is my issue pretty much still a dead end?
I'm just very surprised betonline won't even talk to a watchdog site that gives them a A+ rating. That's just not sitting right with me.
I know it's tough but your issue is far from being done with, be patient.
Players want answers yesterday, books want to deal with these things tomorrow, makes it hard for those in the middle trying to mediate.
Don't start counting the money but your case is not over. Hang in there.Comment -

It's jurisdictional and OCCASIONALLY the pawn shop is able to recoup some dollars but in the great majority of cases they do not.
"Don't accept stolen property next time". Easier said than done.

#75Just an update....Dave Mason replied to me on twitter and he said he's going to look into this for me.
Also, I received a personal message on here but evidently can't reply until I reach 40 posts. So to the person who sent the message, don't think I'm ignoring you.Comment -

#77Just wanted to check in and see if sbrforum has heard back from betonline. I tried to reach Dave Mason on twitter last week and he said he would look into it. I messaged him again yesterday but haven't heard back at all.
This is so frustrating.Comment -

Do you know, though, who at sbrforum was trying to contact betonline on my behalf? I'd like to chat with them if possible.
I'm just beyond frustrated that betonline won't even reply to sbrforum when you guys have graded them as a A+. It feels like, if they won't talk to sbrforum, I doubt they will talk to anyone.Comment -

#80Well i finally got a reply from Dave Mason.
He said
"I tried to help but can't. BOL found there to be Refer A Friend Abuse. 15 linked, referred accounts which is too many"
And then I messaged him back twice and he blocked me.
I still don't know what I did wrong. I was referred to this website. I made a deposit and wagered for over a month. Then account got locked and money stolen. How is this legal?
Is there really nothing that sbrforum can do to help?Last edited by Newbee1985; 07-05-21, 09:38 AM.Comment -

Of course I was part of a referral chain since i was referred by someone, but that doesn't mean I did anything wrong. If they don't want customers who are part of a referral chain, why did they supposedly run a contest to see who could refer the most people? Then punish me for being referred.
Also, at the beginning of this thread i was under the impression that my wagers were going to be reviewed to make sure I didn't wager on the same things as the person who referred me and to look at my ip address, etc. Why won't betonline at least give this info to sbrforum?
I mean, they stole my money for being one of 15 people referred because as Dave Mason said, 15 referrals is too many.Comment -

#84there are people and advertisers with 100's upon 100's of referrals and they are making nice profits off of it. The difference is they are not trying to scam/defraud the book. You know whats going on and you got caught like most do. Technology Baby! Now stop wasting everones time. Everyone whos been here a bit knows what happened here and everyone knows BOL and Bookmaker are the 2 legit top A+ books in the UniverseIts over Kid!
Also if there are people with 100's of referrals like you said, why did Dave Mason tell me 15 was too many?
I just want betonline to simply tell me what I did that was wrong or what I did that broke the rules. Seems simple enough. But for 3 months, they haven't said a word and they won't even reply to sbrforum. If I broke the rules, wouldn't they communicate this to sbrforum with some sort of proof?
Also, if you are worried about me wasting your time, the best i can do is advise you to not click on this topic....problem solved.Comment -

SBRforum tried to reach out to betonline to get the story and betonline hasn't gotten back to them in 2 months. Have you thought about why that might be? You would think it would be easy for them to say "this person cheated and broke this rule" or "wagered on this and broke that rule" or "logged in from a bad ip address and broke that rule".
I'm supposed to just accept them stealing my money with literally no explanation of what I did wrong when i know I did nothing wrong?Comment -

#88And yes, I knew i was cheating and breaking all these rules so being the genius that I am, I decided to keep betting with them for over a month just waiting to get caught rather than cash my money out of there. Wow, I'm smart.Comment -

I truly understand that you don't like our answers, but your boyfriend or his friend are the people who have taken advantage of you here. Not the Sportsbook.
Best you could have ever hoped for is for them to show some goodwill toward you as you sound like an innocent victim to them as you did to me.
Go and tell your boyfriend he needs to refund you. Seriously, this is his fault. And if he didn't know what his friend was up to in using you, your boyfriend should go find some new friends who wont take advantage of him too.
I hope you realize that your boyfriend's friend had every opportunity to make sure this did not happen to you. When he decided to withdraw his ill-gotten commissions and set off the review that caught you, he could have very easily warned you to withdraw at the same time. Please go and ask that low life to refund you from his stolen funds. I would love to hear what he has to say. FU dumb victim is my guess of how he will treat you. Go ahead and send him my comments here and see what he says. You will be able to confirm if he is a con man or not from his initial reaction to being challenged.

So this jerk cashed all of his commissions out and that set of the alarm? If you did speak with betonline, what did they tell you he or I did wrong? It sounds like it was something having to do with him referring 15 people. I'm guessing he committed some kind if fraud?
Like i said, this guy wont talk to me and neither will betonline.Comment -

The only people you ever want to refer, or take a referral from, are people you trust to never try to scam a bookmaker. Refer a friend connections can cause all sorts of difficulty for people when problems come up..Comment -

#93I'm sorry this did not work out for you. It's bad for the industry if people like you who feel like they have acted innocently get penalized like this. Dave Mason really is a fair minded person. And if he said to me "I tried, but failed", it would mean to me that he also thinks you sound truthful, and genuinely wanted to help but could not. Without knowing exactly what the friend did it's not possible to argue really. And Dave won't even give SBR much information about other people's accounts (who have not asked SBR for help directly).

Also, does betonline have any recourse to get their money back from this guy....because I'm sure if they got their money back, then they would pay me. Or can sbrforum assist with this?
I have all of his contact info, phone number, address, etc.
Also, i still don't agree that if 1 person commits fraud or breaks a rule, that a separate person should have money stolen from them.....but at least i am now understanding better why they did this.Comment -

#95Have never referred one person to a book through a link or referral program. Never has seemed to make any sense.
Those individuals would be family or friends where we would share the same house, work, etc and log in from same IP since we are close. Superbowl for example could have 20+people in the same house that gamble and I could have referred. Wouldnt that set off alarms like we are cheating?
Just way to risky to make $100 or whatever it is.Comment -

#97You make it sound like these books are from back in the primitive days of internet and technology...they have the tools to detect what is legit and what is suspicious activity....shared IP is nothing outside of a basic review in some cases...if your innocent of any wrong doings your fine...i think some here believe everything the OP says here...odds on chance here she or he is lying and knows what gig is got caught like so many complaint posters do and lie and lie...thats what people do..
Did it ever occur to you Einstein, why betonline isn't communicating with sbrforum to let them know what rule I broke or how I cheated/scammed them, other than supposedly being referred by someone who cheated them (which is probable but even this not confirmed yet)? Sbrforum has been trying to talk to someone there for 2 months.
I know, i know, no manager there wants to waste 5 precious minutes over 2 months to tell sbrforum what I did so that they can explain it to little pea brained kona.
Sorry I'm wasting more of your time little kona.Comment -

Take this story out of the mix and look at the situation with the Bet Phoenix group. Doesnt take much for a book to say "multi accounting" so why risk it for a few dollars.Comment -

And they also don't want to waste any further time on accounts which they believe they have dead to rights. You may think it's only 5 minutes, but that invites your next inquiry, and now we're up to 15 minutes, then an hour, and so on... And that's an hour X however many cheating accounts they find. They find it easier to just nip it in the bud and move on.Comment -

#102Not only that but it's easily controllable. Why are you giving out your WiFi password to everyone? Cell phone data plans are dirt cheap these days. I keep my wifi closely guarded knowing that I have so much money at stake. And I'm certainly not giving my wifi password to someone who I know I referred to an offshore sportsbook without having a serious discussion with them first.Comment -

#103think about legal USA that promote refrals and watching together and then think of Teams they sponser and Stadiums with 50K people and bars near with shared WIFI. Its just not about the shared IP its about the books having Tech to spot the cheats. This persons story about a boyfriends friend is a dime a dozen Im just surprised she didnt say she is a single mom( The Prop Complaint Gal did that while back hahah) if she is a gal for more sympathy LOLComment -

I'm not looking for sympathy here. I'm looking for either my money that betonline is stealing from me...or at a bare minimum, them to explain to sbrforum what I did that was wrong and against their terms/rules.
Btw, thanks for wasting more of your precious time on my topic. Much appreciated.Comment -
