#38its kinda comical that 5dimes is losing out to betonline, considering all betonline does for their odds is scrape them from 5dimes, and add juice. 5dimes would have a stranglehold if they could make very simple procedural changes. its hilarious and sad to see at the same time. what could be...

This should not even be an argument, the books are different.
5Dimes has more markets and more betting options and lets you take 50 cent open parlays and all sorts of "fun" stuff. It competes with Bet365 and Heritage and Youwager etc.
Betonline suits larger players who are not into any of the "fun stuff". They can be relied on to keep taking large bets without collaring players fast. They compete with Pinnacle and Bookmaker for business.
If either one of them suits you REALLY well, there is a good chance the other one wont..Comment -

#40Why do you comment in these threads when you constantly post absolute garbage that is not even close to true?

#41no clue what all the 'fun stuff' about 5dimes was for but to shill them. completely irrel and off topic. 5dimes has more offerings, who said they didn't? i said betonline odds are scraped from 5dimes. go look it up and disprove it or shhhh shill.Comment -

#44No, it's not true at all. I use both sites extensively. I would be wasting my time shopping between the two if what you say is correct. Also, BOL will often post a futures market, which 5Dimes doesn't currently have, with their own odds...and vice versa.

#45it's like clockwork. every week for nascar 5dimes puts up odds, and within a few hours generally betonline puts up the same exact odds with juice added. betonline is never before 5dimes. every season for nfl mvp, nfl rushing yards, receiving, all props, exact same order of odds with a little juice added to each on betonline. they always show up shortly after 5dimes.
the only difference you will find is that 5dimes is sharper because they are a real book. they will take offerings down, or change them, while betonline will lag behind. but they will match 5dimes.Comment -

#46Maybe they do for NASCAR. I wouldn't know because I don't bet that sport. But they beat 5Dimes to publication in the 4 majors all the time. And I don't need to waste my time proving your absurd statement incorrect. I'm a huge bettor at both sites as well.Comment -

#48I tried sending more than my requested deposit amount at 5dimes today to see what happened. I sent $5 more than the amount I requested at 5dimes after I scanned the QR code and I sent at the highest priority. Interestingly enough, after checking the status from the cashier page, it changed from the amount I requested to the amount I sent. After 40 minutes 5dimes credited the funds after 2 confirmations. The price of bitcoin increased so I thought I may get more than I sent but instead they credited exactly the amount I sent. I don’t see where sending extra does any good. You’re still going to incur a loss if the price of BTC goes down and won’t receive more if it goes up.Comment -

The point was that a small handful people claim they "always get the worse rate of when sent/received"... mind you most times these same few people repeat their same claim, several new people reply to say they dont have that experience. And after a year or so of these 3 or 4 people repeating it, not one new person has turned up to add to that pile.
Anyway, that is the solution for those people who think the book wants it both ways. They can CHOOSE to take the risk during send time themselves. and just ignore the 15 min price guarantee.
I'm not sure what to even say to people like you who seem to think you should have it both ways, either best of send or receipt time..Comment -

#51I've never seen the amount on the deposit change after sending, just when it is credited.

#52I don't want best of send or receipt time. I want what I sent at time of receipt. The time of receipt is determined by 5Dimes processor. Do you not see the problem here? 5dimes is the one having it both ways, they’re scraping every single deposit when the price goes up and passing the loss to the player when the price goes down. If I could get my deposit history I’m willing to bet you I’ve lost close to $500 this way. I made one large deposit and they stiffed me over $300 when BTC was extremely volatile, I complained and as a “one time gesture” they credited it back. They know exactly what they are doing.Comment -

#56These two books have different rules and grading has to be done and hour or two later at BOL.
5dimes rules are grading is final as soon as victory lane happens. And for many years they have graded NASCAR races within minutes after completion based on that rule. But they won't pay you for betting an official race winner declared after penalties. (or head to heads that change)
Betonline respects NASACR's post race inspection protocol that started last year, and grade only based on official results that are not posted until inspections are complete.
There was a case last year where one poster got paid for two different winners of an Xfinity race at each book.
Anyway, they are not "late grading nascar". Both books are on the ball usually and grade within minutes of race end, or official results.
If odds allowed, it would be smart to place 50% of each NASCAR bet each book. To make sure you get that hidden advantage of a double winner sometimes, or a half win instead of a loss sometimes..Comment -

#59I am going to be using 5 dimes a lot more. Usually I go to coinbase to fund the 5 dimes account. I use my debit card to load the acct with bitcoin and send the bitcoin over to 5dimes. I lose about 4 % every time I do this. Then when I cash out I lose another 2% (approx). In the past it was a non issue but, I can see this adding up over time. I understand doing a direct withdrawal from my bank to coinbase will cut the fee in half but that takes 3-5 days. Can anyone recommend and explain a better way? How are the transaction and exchange rates at those bitcoin atms. Thanks in advance...Comment -

The cheapest option are Trading Exchanges where you do the buying/selling yourself on the open market. They usually cost 0.5% in fees for each trade. Coinbase has one called Coinbase Pro. Transfer your money to that section and do the trade and that will save you 2% each time. Kraken is another one. I use one called independentreserve.com
Full service Exchangers like Coinbase and Gemini cost 1.5% to 2.5% and handle the trading for you. Whihc is what you have been doing. The Square Inc CashApp on your phone is a cheap full service option for buying as well (not a great place to sell though).
The other alternative are Person 2 Person exchanges like localbitcoins and Paxful. Basically ebay for crypto. Not cheap and a danger for new players who dont understand the scam risks.
It sounds like you are already using wires to fund your account? If so, I'd take a look at Independentreserve (as that is the only way to fund/withdraw in US$ there. Free to deposit, $20 flat fee to withdraw).Comment -

#64BOL has eliminated their reduced Friday fees for payouts. Used to be that I could get a check once a month for only $25. Now it's $75 every time for check payouts. Disappointing.Comment
