    Betfair closed my account with 6000 USD on it, and not react in support
    Hello everyone. Sorry if I chose wrong topic, I am new here. In that case please let me know where to write.

    The thing is. Betfair suspended my account in the late 2019. I don't know when exactly, because I had to notifications on closing itself. I can even post my login, it does not matter anymore. Axel555, same is my login here. I had 6070 USD on my account.

    Of course I immediately contacted support (it was on Dec 6, 2019), they requested all the docs, which I uploaded into the chat right away. Then I got wonderful answer from them "We're looking into it, it will take weeks and MONTHS to resolve, just wait". And then they just blocked my main email, so I couldn't even reach to support anymore. 2 weeks after I wrote to account security team, and they requested docs again. Okay, sent again, and even more this time. They took it and no reaction followed.

    Right now account is closed, I cannot even login. They refuse to return my money, while "investigation in progress" and do not react to my messages, like at all. No clear terms on investigation ent time either. It looks like they just decided to take my money.

    Actually I am pretty shocked, because I am their customer since 2009 or 2010. Did not violate any rules, made the bulk of the money on GB horse racing. I had more than 40k there, and then eventually withdrew funds. Last withdrawal was on late summer 2019, 7000 USD.

    And I had like NO bets placed in a last year or two, so I couldn't break any rules. Honestly I already said "good bye" to money, I just want people to know about it. I always thought that Betfair is solid and reputable (and they were back in the days), but now they behave like a scambook and support is straight terrible. Account is closed for 40+ days now, with no clear explanation why and without any clear terms to reslove this issue. Like 72 hours.

    If you have any suggestions where to complain, please let me know. The sum that was on balance is quite significant to me. It's not like 200-300 bucks, which I could happily forget.

    Leaving money there and not betting for years could be what got you flagged.

    What country are you in? That will determine what options you have.

      Yes, maybe. My fault here, agree.

      1) Country - Russia. Betfair officially blocked in there, but unofficially they work in there. Accept Webmoney and Skrill. Should have withdraw all my money right after blockings started ofc.

      2) Couple of additional facts, just to be honest.

      2a) I got forward warning on Sep 29, that I have to provide all the docs in 8 weeks. I asked them about secure area to upload, but their answer got into the spam folder and i am forgot about it. To they probably closed it on Nov 29, 2019, or something along this lines. But again, no warnings that "we will close your account in 48 hours if u do not provide the docs", etc.

      2b) On russian analogue of SBR like a lot of complains of this type. They closing accounts and do not provide customers with withdraw options. But I can speak for myself only of course.

        I understand that I actually have very few options, if any. So I just want to make people know about their business style. In regard to their long loyal customers. I had like 30% discount once.. And paid them a tons of commissions. Anyway thanks for help!

        One russian guy managed to get back 32 000 USD, as he claimed. They closed his account in the very same way as mine, and refused to provide him with withdrawals methods. Whole history is here, but it's in russian sorry. Just don't want to sound unfounded.

          The Russian Betfair support is notorious for being tougher to work with.

          Considering you let the warning period run out, that would likely add to their suspicion too.


          An option you have is to email escalations@betfair.com and ask them if they can check what Russian support are doing to you.

          And if they will not or can not help you, you can then also ask them to supply a "deadlock email" which you can use to have IBAS review the matter. https://www.ibas-uk.com/consumers/se.../dispute-form/

          Malta is your correct regulator and you can complain to them too, but not much use really. https://www.mga.org.mt/support/online-gaming-support/

            Thanks a lot. That is exactly what those russian 32k guy did. He wrote to escalation team, with no result, then got deadlock email and used it with IBAS. I just did not know where to write to escalation team. Thanks a lot for help, this is really useful and kind if you!

              is this form is functional for you? It's nothing on this page, sorry. I tried in 2 browsers, Chrome and Edge, and with proxy.
              upd: must be for registered users only, will try to register now.

Anyway, will have outgoing email screenshot then, if escalation team refuse to provide me with deadlock email. Amount of free help you provided me with is absolutely awesome, thanks a lot!

                      I would have waited to get the deadlock email, but I guess it cant hurt.

                      IBAS probably wont do anything before it comes though.

                        Escalation team answered that my account was re-open Jan 6th (with no reply from support which is remarkable). I immediately ordered a withdrawal to Webmoney. I will report here once I get the money, and probably ask to delete this topic entirely if possible. Until I get the money though, let it stay. Thanks again for help!

                        upd: their notification just got into Spam folder, they do unblocked it on Jan 6th. Hopefully I will get my money at last. Sorry for confusion caused. Good lesson for me for future. Feel a bit stupid now. ) But very happy as well.

                          Issue completely solved, I got the 100% of the money from my account. If possible, please hide this topic entirely. If not, fine as well. And thanks again for the help and support.

                            Not sure why you would feel silly, if they did not tell you or answer you it's not strange you would not keep trying to login.

                              On 2019 12 12 Betfair.com also closed my account and can`t withdraw my funds 13 444 EUR, account was more than 10 years old, was doing mostly sports arbitrage betting , all my activity in Betfair was legal and clear as possible, more about my situacion you can find in this forum: https://www.sportsbookreview.com/for...3-444-eur.html
