5 Dimes BTC Deposit Feedback Wanted
It's been a long while since I deposited by BTC at 5D. Are they crediting bitcoin deposits in a timely manner? Also, do you feel you're getting fair value for the BTC you send (no serious shortages)?

Thanks Gordon. I saw the BOL promo, but I'm fully funded there right now.

No. They take forever to upload your deposit. There is no reason BV should be quicker than 5D. BV credits it like within 5min.

        5D is minimum 15min

Takes 6 confirmations. That's what CS told me and as I watched they were correct. The last time I did it, about an hour. Your results may vary.

Wow, not what I expected. When they did finally post your deposit, did you receive credit for time of send or time of 6th confirmation?

They require 1 confirmation for most accounts. Not sure why a couple of guys have their accounts set to 6. But I bet it takes 1 for you.

You can always just ask SC yourself before depositing to check.

1 confirmation and 15 minutes max, it's always short by a few bucks, never more.

I prefer to ask actual clients than 5D CS, because I had horrible waits in the past. So bad that I stopped using BTC with them. Are BTC exclusive getting confirmed faster than the rest of us?

Never understood why these big books even need to wait for a confirmation. They can just check the fee you posted and make sure its not ridiculously small putting them at risk for a double spend.
I can understand brand new accounts, but an existing account sending a normal sized fee presents zero risk for the book.
Instead they hassle us for a non-issue, because they don't understand how bitcoin works.

1 confirmation here, not 6. And I always size my fee appropriately so the funds aren’t in my account within a couple minutes.

It varies. There is zero consistency. Sometimes it's 2 confirmations. Sometimes 5 confirmations.

You will always get shorted if you miss the 15 minute window.

You better hope that BTC gains while waiting for it to be confirmed... otherwise you will lose past the 15 minute window.

The 15 minute window is a pure joke.

One thing I’ve noticed is after you send the BTC to 5 dimes and refresh 5D cashier page, if you don’t get the blue box that the transaction is pending then you’re screwed. It’s only happened 3-4 times but support made me wait for 8 confirmations before they’d contact the processor. Here’s my theory, they can credit the deposit anywhere from zero confirmations to as long as they feel like waiting. The larger amount you send, the longer they’ll take to credit and the greater likelihood the processor will pass on the decline in BTC price to the sender or keep the increase.

I agree with the earlier post, it’s ridiculous for 5dimes to treat established players like this is their first deposit. If you have a good deposit history , go ahead and credit the deposit with zero confirmations in good faith once the transaction is on the network. It’s not like we could withdraw if it doesn’t confirm.

Recently got credited after 3 confirmations. Some time ago other deposits required 6 confirmations. Instead of sending 1 large deposit it could be quicker to break it up into smaller amounts so they won't require 6 confirmations.
