    Giving Sportsbook Bank Account Information
Hey Everyone, Was looking to join Sports Interaction and they tell me they require me to scan them my photo ID + a recent bank account statement. My concern is sending them my bank account no. does anyone know if this is a common request from Sportsbooks?

The will probably only be paying you via wire, or are u trying deposit something like $50,000. Bank statement can prove your income

May only be address verification where as a utility bill will suffice. Best to ask customer service if there is a specific need to give them a bank statement.

This was their reply to my concern:

This is a follow up email in response to your concern about our Registration documents. These are the documents that our licensing agreements require that we have for all customers. Unfortunately we are not to accept any other document in it's place. The request of the full document is just to make sure there’s no room for any sort of discrepancies that an alteration or editing of these documents would bring.

I understand your hesitancy, and we’ve had many customers in the past who have felt the same way you do about the transactions being shown, but unfortunately due to our licensing agreement we do need for it to be the full document with no changes made to it.

Furthermore the bank statement is just to verify with our Security Team to verify that your bank account is in fact a Canadian account, is actively being used and is in your name. We need this information prior to your future withdrawal request for our licensing agreement, as previously mentioned.

Page 56 Paragraph 243 is what the Kahnawake Gaming Commission required licensees to obtain from a player. I see nothing absolute about needing a bank statement.

Read the entire document if u have time, but htis is what SIA would need to adhere to.

There is no danger giving someone else your bank account numbers.

People and businesses need to do this every day.

A bank statement is not standard KYC anywhere though.

But it is often asked for if you are sent for second level KYC checks.

I’ve never had a book require me to send a FULL bank or credit card statement. They were always cool if you blacked out some info like first part of account number and specifics about transactions. There is def danger in providing this much info to anyone. Companies are run by people. Some people are shitty. Some IT people suck and systems get hacked. There is possibly enough info on your bank statement and finding some background info on you to be able to answer security questions on phone to potentially do some damage with info in wrong hands. Call me paranoid but I wouldn’t send my full bank statement to anyone. There are other ways to verify info that should put you at less risk and satisfy the books needs. IMO. Not to mention it’s your own damn business what you spend your money on.

Sports Interaction is legit. I wouldn't hesitate to send them what they are asking for. If you want to be cautious just open a new bank account and use the information from that acct for verification purposes. I use RBC and can open a new bank acct online in a couple of minutes (and print out void cheques and direkt deeposit forms) so its no hassle whatsoever.

Also, SIA is a great out, based in Canada with lots of deposit and withdrawal options plus they usually put up great numbers on underdogs.

Once you are all verified you'll be happy you can bet at Sports Interaction.
