Pinnacle for a long time allowed bots. This rule is specifically for bot users. I actually suggested to pinnacle customer service they should disallow people from using any automated betting software or bots and they proudly replied that their volume and their system can handle anything and there was no reason for them to disallow them. I didn't like that decision. That was years ago.
Now, they finally made a rule against it. I am happy.
Those bot users beat the good line almost every time. Most of them use bots for arb purposes.
I don't like racing against bots to get the best line. This new rule is golden and should have happened long time ago.
I am guessing their volume is not as good anymore to support bot activity.
Different ownership since 2015.
Pinnacle was much better under Stanley Tomchin.

I don't know if it is true but there is a rumour that Pinnacle have invested a lot in development of their E-sports section recently. The max limits are pretty high on some E-sports events. You can place several thousand dollars per bet on some events which is sometimes impossible on some soccer events. And Pinnacle E-sports lines are not sharp. So they are suffering big losses in E-sports now which they are trying to compensate for.

You heard this rumour where?
I'd assume that if they kept offering big limits, and kept losing, that they would drop their limits, just as they have been everywhere else. It has already been discussed in this thread, how Pinnacle is dropping limits on various sports & leagues. It doesn't make sense to drop limits on soccer leagues, yet continue to offer high limits on E-Sports, if they are losing money on E-Sports.

I heard this rumour from one of professional bettors. He told me that pinnacle management beleive that in the future E-sports will become one of the main sports in terms of turnover and profitable for them so they keep investing into it. Moreover, Pinnacle have started spending money on advertising which they never did in the past. So now they are trying to compensate for E-sports and advertising expenses by dropping limits on other sports.

If Pinny think E sports will become much bigger than it is today, I think they are really wrong.

Pinny planning for the future and the arenas full of young people watching esports. Wait until they have money and are old enough to gamble.

The Maxs on E-Sports events pre live still as ridiculous as they were 8/9 months ago ( between 100 and 150 euros in odss from 1,70 to 2,20 via agents, maybe in pinnacle directly around 170/220 ) so this thing has nothing in relathionship with that, i dont know why ppl invent stupid things to justify the drops on big sports ( basketball, football )
If they have this ridiculous maxs pre live on e-sports of course its impossible that betting live you will have highers maxs, basically because the max in pinnacle live betting are always worse than pre live, and the guy is saying live you can bet even more than in soccer.. LOL, wtf? What a lie. There must be a reason, but for sure is not that now they allow to do bigger maxs on E-Sports.
Before telling lies and invent things, think twice
