    William Hill
I recently joined William Hill and made a (winning) bet.

But after speaking with them through live chat (for id verification), I got the feeling that they were a shady company that will prevent me from withdrawing.

So I tried to withdraw (3 times), and low and behold, they are saying that I have entered in my banking info incorrectly. I've triple checked the last few times to make sure, so I know they're lying.

    Is this normal with them?
I know some sportsbooks give you the run around, but eventually pay you.
I see them rated an A on this site, so I'm confused.

They are a huge company. There will be some actual problem rather than someone making up lies to just delay and annoy you.

The live CS agent may not know what it is and be telling you the wrong thing though.

I find it's better to email them than live chat as its generally a more senior person and they also have time to find the right answer.

If you joined, deposited with a card, made one bet and want to withdraw straight away? That sounds more like the reason for any delay to me.

      Is that the case?

Never had a problem with withdrawals via instadebit. Always received within 24 hours.

If you deposited a small amount £10-£50 and made a bet I dont think you will have any problems. If you deposited a large amount and made 1 bet they will want to take a look before processing a withdrawal.

I also don't regard them as scammers. It's one of the biggest bookies. They've been around for far so looong

Top notch book. You cant have problems there unless you are scammer. But not for big money bettors.

Sry for late reply. Yes Optional, I did just deposit and only made 1 bet. But they just felt shady to me from the get go, so I didn't want to risk any more money with them. My bank offered to refund me my deposit so i'm thankful for that.

As for withdrawing, they have nowhere to put in your account and transit number for a bank transfer. So my withdraw kept getting denied. Spoke to them on live chat about this and they were asking for all my personal info and it just didn't feel safe to me. Can't even get a hold of them via phone. Call the number and it just disconnects. Felt like they were stalling, hoping that I would bet more and lose it.

I'm surprised no one else has had any problems with them. Anyways, i'm trying out heritage now, as I've heard nothing but good things about them.
