I have two transaction that have been stuck on blockchain since Monday and they both are still unconfirmed. I saw videos of doing a child to parent transaction to raise the fee however I don't think I can do it because the transaction were sent from a website to my localbitcoins account. Will it eventually be confirmed? If it doesnt get confirmed, does it return to the book ? How does all of this work. Thanks
Bitcoins sent with very low fee. Please Help.

#2I had one straggler that was going on 3 days...I finally got it into the viabtc transaction accelerator and it was confirmed 2 hours later...Try that if you can get it in....Also if you see unconfirmed inputs that are tied into the transaction try putting those in too as that might be why its not confirmed...But regardless you will get it back or it will confirm just might take longerComment -

Also doesn't help that most wallets have yet to implement Segwit upgrade for bitcoin, which would help fees and confirmation time.
Can always check https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ to approximate how big a fee you will need to get your transaction through when you want.Comment -

#6So if minimum recommended transaction fee (25 blocks) is 0.0005 BTC and I tried 0.000025, is it ever going to confirm? 21 days?Last edited by MalikHusam; 12-15-17, 11:28 PM.Comment -

There is no specified expiry time for transactions. It's up to each node running the bitcoin software to choose when they will drop it.
Only when all nodes your wallet communicates with no longer see the transaction in the "mempool" waiting for a miner to pick it up will your wallet allow you to send those funds again. As an aside, only once that new transaction is confirmed will the original one actually be 100% purged from the system.
The Default time in the software is set to 72 hours, and that is supposed to be about how long it will take... BUT there are other factors that can affect this.
Some wallets will automatically rebroadcast your transaction every 24 hours until it sees it picked up by a miner for example. Effectively meaning it will never time out.
But also, that timeout function is not the only way errant transactions are cleared. Part of each block is reserved for clearing these low fee transactions too.
The simple answer is that if you tx is not confirmed within around 3 days, you should see it come available in your wallet again sometime after that. But no one can really tell you the exact timeframe for sure..Comment -

#8To clarify Optional's post, normally the coins will be returned to the book if the transaction remains unconfirmed after about 72hrs. They will not credit the money back to your account automatically in most cases, so you should ask them.
You could also post the transaction here, there are ways to try and get the transaction picked up by the miners (they have been discussed in the forum here as well).Comment -

#9Hello all, in the same boat here and really needing some help! My transaction was sent from my blockchain wallet as a deposit to a sportsbook literally over 4 days ago - 12/12 at 12:50am. Still showing unconfirmed and has not been returned to my wallet either, almost like sitting there in limbo! I have already tried accelerating the day after (12/13) but still nothing! I can paste the transaction here if that would help!
Just don’t know what to do now, please help! I am very thankful to you guys for all the invaluable information here, as always!Comment -

http://bitminers.pro/
https://themerkle.com/bitminers-will-confirm-your-pending-bitcoin-transfer-for-only-10/
What is Bitminers?
Bitminers is a bitcoin transaction accelerator that allows you to get faster confirmations on your unconfirmed transactions. We charge only 0.0007669 BTC for all transactions.
How bitcoin accelerator works?
We push your transactions to multiple pools we are working with and even if you pay 0.01$ fees, you still have the chance to get the transaction confirmed through our accelerator service immediately.
Refund?
If your transaction is not confirmed after 10 minutes, we will provide you with a full refund within a day. This policy is not applicable to the tx which are removed or double-spent during the acceleration process.
Confirmation time?
If your tx has 0 or 0.01$ fees it can take upto 30-60 Minutes while fees above 0.50$ will be confirmed within 10 minutes. Please make sure your tx doesn't have unconfirmed inputs.Comment -

There is a part of each block reserved for clearing these unattractive transactions.
The Blockchain.info/wallet does not auto rebroadcast so if you do nothing, that bitcoin will come back if a miner does not pick it up within 3 days or so.
Every time you rebroadcast or try an accelerator it refreshes the transaction and will reset the time to wait for it to come back available in your own wallet.
But that's what I would do, keep rebroadcasting/accelerating..Comment -

#15Thanks for replying Optional! So I should just keep trying the accelerator thing even though it hasn’t worked yet? Just makes me a little nervous at this point with it going on 5 days now and feeling like my funds have virtually disappeared!
Is there an accelerator you recommend? Obviously I can’t use the one listed previously as my transaction amount is barely more than the $16 it’d cost to use them!
I’ve been using ConfirmTX but doesn’t seem like it’s wanting to work this time!Comment -

You might need to try a few times on the hour to get it in.
But don't worry about losing it. It will either get there or re-appear in your wallet. There isn't anywhere else for it to go and it has to be accounted for on the blockchain ledger..Comment -

#17The Viabtc free accelerator has been reported to work by several people recently. You need to try and submit at 1 second past the hour to get in.

#24Finally got the ‘acceleration succeeded’ message on viabtc! Hopefully that means it’ll finally process, maybe even before the 5 day mark (which is shortly after midnight). Will keep everyone posted and let you know once it does go through!
Thanks again to Optional and everyone so willing to help and advise! Surely this has to be the longest anyone has seen yet, but glad to be a live example and real proof of everything we’ve been discussing - hopefully others find this thread insightful and learn just as much as I have today!Comment -

#26Mine has already confirmed as well! Literally got first confirmation within 15 min after successful acceleration, ended up having to contact sportsbook after several confirmations but funds deposited in the account within an hour after viabtc acceleration!
Thank you so much for helping tonight - I hope others have learned as much as I did tonight! Viabtc works extremely fast!Comment -
