#2I certainly remember him. He was the best sportsbook manager ever. I could call him on his personal number when I had an issue. I remember one time he got me a pay out on a Sunday afternoon one time because I really needed the money that day. He even a couple of times gave me some credit a few times on my account if I did not have any money to deposit. If he is at another book now I would love to know as well and would definitely play there.Comment -

#6Yeah I think I cried the day I found out Betjamaica was gone. They transferred me to Heritage but they are not the same. I remember that card Betjamaica had for a while, it was the best call for a payout and it was on the card in like 15 minutes. The good old days.Comment -

#11I talked to Scotty about 3 days before they sent the email announcing they were closing.
In the last 3-4 weeks he was really frustrated with the U.S. market and how difficult it was to set up processors. It would take them weeks to get something setup and then someone would report them and it would get shut down. I'm sure it wasn't only related to that but he was really going nuts about it. This was way before the time of Bitcoin, etc.
Was saddened when I saw the email but wasn't overly surprised. He didn't say a word or mention a thing about closing up when I talked to him.Comment -

#15Good person to deal with - many others I can recall dealing with who many here would recognize by a first name only...few left or their own accord and on good terms.
Jon, Lenny, Max from Parlaymakers to name a few that were honestly good to me (but in the end screwed a lot of people)..cant remember her name, but wasn't there a female manager over Legendz/ThePig for a while...always professional to deal with as well. Hell, I can remember when WSEX started - they weren't officially taking bets, but promoting a sports exchange where you traded players like stocks - i.e. you bought shares of Canseco at 20 a piece - at the end of the season the player named league MVP was awarded $100 per share. This was back when sports cards were a big business and I had a small shop and worked with some bigger shops and did the shows. They wanted me to push their product.
Someone honest should write a book about the glory years of offshore - I read the Steve Budin POS years ago - did nothing but reaffirm my feelings on what a self promoting tout he is. A lot of "good guys" espc in forum land - and probably 10x more infamous ones. Just the nature of the business - an honest gambler is almost an oxymoron.Comment -

#18He probably had enough money to live like a king for the rest of his life.
Didn't Tony from 5dimes claim one time that he also could retire and never have to work again. By that logic Scotty can also do the same thing since Betjamaica was way more popular than 5dimes.Comment -

#19I don't get why these books nowadays have such horrible customer service. To me that is probably the most important thing in a book. There have been times when I changed my mind depositing with some of these books simply because they had a horrible attitude on the phone. Betjamaica was always the best. A shame they left the market.Comment -
