#4yes. thinking it may really be someone who has already been limited or restricted for some reason. a male who is betting using a female to join and bet again unrestricted or double up on bonus maybe. it's stupid but i can see books doing this easy.Comment -

#8Books should always try to judge an account according to the business a client is giving them, but at the same time there are a number of typical stereotypes that can usually act as an early indicator as to how good or bad a client is likely to be in the long run. Unfortunately being a female seems to be one of these, as are age, country of origin and numerous other factors - and using these stereotypes to make decisions is something I think that every single person does in their life in general, not just gambling.
An example of one I use myself when playing poker online is that if possible I will try not to sit down at a table with more than 50% Scandinavians. Why? Well, in my personal experience I have found that Scandinavians in general tend to play a lot tighter and are unlikely to throw their chips in on lesser quality hands and thus for me playing against them it becomes a bit of a grind so I prefer to try and find a table that "looks" a bit easier to beat.
Now that is my own view which has been built on my own (limited) experiences, but I would suspect that a number of you would have similar views or have your own stereotypes that you have based on your own experiences.
Magnify these stereotypes to a sportsbook fraud department who see the same things day after day and patterns will start to form - one of these (as someone has already mentioned here) is that while there are a number of legitimate female gamblers, there are a higher number of female accounts that are being used by men whose own accounts have been limited or closed or who are wanting to double up on bonuses etc.
It is not a perfect system, and there will always been some mistakes made one way or another, but ultimately it is obvious that sportsbooks use their own stereotypes in order to protect themselves.
Another example of this is the fact that a lot of books will have more stringent ID rules depending on what country a client is from. How many complaints have we seen in the S+I forum where (usually) Eastern European clients are having to jump through a lot more hoops than the rest of us in order to prove their ID's. While sending in a copy of a passport and copy of a utility bill is usually good enough for most of us, there are a lot of clients who have to send in all sorts on top of this such as signed statements from a public official and even photos holding their ID next to their face. I don't necessarily agree with some of these steps, but it is obviously something that the sportbooks have been burned with in the past and have decided that certain clients need to do more to prove they are who they say they are.
These stereotypes (rightly or wrongly) are stereotypes for a reason unfortunately.Comment -

#11I would say there is percent of female bettors. Maybe the most they have in England. But people shouldnt undermine this fact. In Europe you have local bookie shops on every corner, and you have roulette and slot machines within the shop. Betting legal so you can see everyone there spending half of their day betting and gambling. Situation is even more serious in eastern Europe, because of low standard and small salaries. I dont bet in local so thankfully im avoiding this kind of people, but women have good percent.
Now regarding online betting and disputes, hmmm.I think part of those women signups are favor for son,brother... who arent rightful to bet,to b precise under 18. But there is some fraudulent activity as taking advantage of bonus, syndicate betting etc...
I think most important is patter how SHE bet,if is resembling to some fraudulent activity book shoul put stop on that, otherwise its just another account.Comment -

#14Vegas you will see hot chicks in sportsbooks betting although I think some beards
Books do not care if a man or a woman
It all depends on what Country your from as some countries are targeted more by books because of high risk of fraudComment -

#17Yes. Majority of the female accounts are multiple accounts of guys (who got banned, limited or kicked out etc) using the wife's, mothers or grandma's account.

The other issue women have is how many are attracted to "risk free profit" sites that advocate hedging out bonuses without any intention to gamble..Comment
