For 5 dimes : you email them and tell them that you want to deposit via BTC, they email back in 30 mins, and ask you to read and agree with the terms. After you replied and agreed with the terms, you'll wait for another 1 hour for the address to send the BTC to. After you sent your BTC to the address they provided, you'll have to wait for another 2 hours for the fund to be available in your account. I deposited several times using this method, and the first email I sent to them at 8:00 am CT, at around 2pm CT the fund is in my account.

BitStamp is a well known established BitCoin Exchange. It's to be trusted... However, It is slower than CoinBase... Like many others here, CoinBase is the way to go especially if you are in the US just for it's ease of use alone I'd recommend CoinBase for Bitcoin newcomers.

That is incorrect. They are just telling you that they use BitStamp as the exchange rate that is deposited into your account.

For example, you send 1 BTC to 5Dimes and the price of BTC is so wildly different from minute to minute that they just want you to know that by the time they revive the bitcoin it could have lost or gain a few dollars by the time they get around to checking their account.

I've sent them a few deposits with BitCoin and Withdrew from 5Dimes more than a couple times and it's very seemless..

For me? I've got a verified account at CoinBase, so I can buy up to $1,000 per day instantly.. And have that sent to 5Dimes within seconds.

Another thing to note, 5Dimes has a $100 min deposit. So you'll want to make sure to send like $120 worth of BTC so if the price of BTC on BitStamp.net drops $20 then you're covered.

You can see how much the price fluxuates here: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitstamp/btcusd

It takes 3 or 4 days to buy and sell bitcoins if you attach your bank account to Coinbase. If you add a ***********, you can buy bitcoins instantly. There is no wait.

True, but bad math since $20 price drop doesn't change your $120 into $100. Unless, of course bitcoin is worth $120.

Correct, if you buy US$100 worth of bitcoin @ $350 and the price when credited has moved to $330, then your deposit amount would end up being US$94.30
