Basically the UK Gambling Commission is crap and they allowed Canbet to keep operating for months (and they still haven't revoked their license) despite knowing they were slow paying, no paying and full on running a Ponzi scheme.

Although I only started to make a list 2 days ago, we're already up to 396,272 GBP or $735,505 AUD owed to bettors there. And that's just from people who are aware of SBR. Even with all of the complaints received and Canbet now acknowledging they don't have the cash to pay, the GC still hasn't acted. You pay for this government body with your taxes and you deserve better. This time it's Canbet, next time it could be a book that's holding your cash. Thanks!!

This is part of a recent email received from TGC

"We are mindful of the need to balance the risks to thelicensing objectivesin the Gambling Act 2005 against the possible impact that any action the Commission takes against Canbet may have on its customers. Whilst we can stop a firm from trading if there is a risk to the licensing objectives, in cases such as this, suspension or revocation of an operating licence is highly likely to result in the company closing and customers having no chance of being repaid"

Who would buy Canbet at this point?! Even ignoring the massive debt, all the goodwill built up over almost 20 years with the brand name - and what kept people having faith they'd be paid even long after the slowpays started - has been completely destroyed.

That # only represents the 179 people who have posted in the Canbet thread in the past 2 days. There's for sure a lot of more than that owed, especially since a large chunk of their 225k client base was Asian.

Welcome back Shari, thanks for letting the forum know about the Canbet issues.

You should always excpect a little heat from the forum members when you issue
warnings about bookmakers as recent history dictates.

On a side note... i see the Titanbet banner waving,this is not a good thing as anyone
with any sorta knowledge knows these are bon a fide thieves.
