in this day and age, i'd only use 3 online books, 5dimes, bovada, and heritage.

#39I also saw somewhere else, the eye, from BBB, that the accounts were cherry picked through and the losers were offered bailouts. The winners weren't. That is some shady stuff.Comment -

#49Alliance shouldn't beat around the bush with that horseshit message players will be paid in 45-60 days, they should be honest and say "We took your money , get over it, and don't play at shit shops any more"Comment -

#51this is what someone was referring to about players being contacted
Originally posted by boatboatboatTalked with an acquaintance in the industry this early afternoon about the Alliance sheet of players. Was hoping this person could facilitae a bailout of sorts for the book. He has participated in things of this nature in the past.
Here in a nutshell is what happened as it was explained to me. I have no way to verify any of this, but am simply passing on what I was told and what I do believe has happened. I have no reason at all to doubt this is what went down.
Alliance Sports book was owned by Mark XXXXXXX. It was run thru a PPH shop. They had about 80 guys and the current player balances were right at about $125k. They have about 20-25 players that generate the vast majority of the "profits" for the book. The remaining players are winners or grinders that don't add much to the bottom line.
Rather than boot the winners and limit the grinders they made the choice to simply close shop.
Now here is the interesting part.
They are calling the 20-25 players they want to keep and putting them in this PPH skin
betgoldstar.com betting line is 1-888-670-7386
A lady named Irene is calling them from # 1-866-374-6874 ( quick seach I discovered that number is on this site http://www.thecostaricaconnection.com/index.html ) . She is explaining to them their accounts have been moved to betgoldstar.com and that player balance and everything has already been transferred. (an inside job)
No attempts to have a bailout were ever put in motion. When ever a book in Costa Rica goes under their are the normal 5-6 suspects for facilitating a bailout. None were contacted in this case, because the book was stripped of it's winners making it a situation NO BOOK WOULD BE WILLING TO ASSUME THAT TYPE OF SHEET.
Leave the profitable players intact, and the book is something someone might be willing to assume the liabilities for. But ownership made that impossible the way they went about this.
The pisser is the "losers" get to keep everything and the winners and grinders get the shaft.
Also as I understand it, the majority of the players there are NOT forum guys, so it is doubtful they will ever find out that some of the Cherries were plucked and put in a new shop while the rest were left to rot on the ground.
So remember when a book boots a player (and of course pays them), it is often done to protect the rest of the players who play there. To bad Alliance didn't have the balls to do that, so it wouldn't have gotten to this point.Comment -

#52It's funny reading some of the stories that people have to say about books they know nothing about. I'm pretty sure everyone who deposited here took at least 100% to 125% bonus, which they probably reloaded if they lost. Alliance also gave the option when u actually finished your rollover to either take a payout or they would add in another rollover with a freeplay of upto your balance which I got and im sure most got also. Sorry u guys lost out in the end and I'm pretty sure most people made out in the + here because of what they offered but it's not looking good for u and don't let it get u down or take u away from what your trying to do. These places are arb only books for bonuses and I won't even bet $1 other than that for these shops.Comment -

#55I have to believe i was one of the 20-25 players 'feeding' the winners. I deposited $100 a week steady for years and sometimes up to $1k. They were a horrible book, posted lines only hours before contest started, had popular games on 'additional games' so that you could not parlay. horrible payouts and ridiculous rollovers.
I once deposited $600 with a bonus, they said I needed to get to $15,000 to cash out, and became almost impossible to do it with shitty lines, no parlays, no futures.
Irene used to call me if i wasn't depositing and offer me some BS bonus.
I want to get a hold of her on the new site and start demanding huge amounts of free play.
I wish there was something more that could be done here.Comment -

#56Them why the hell did u even keep playing at this book? Sure hope it wasn't for a stupid bonus. Those are a worst reason in the world to use any small time book. Just to hold ur money hostage
u just said about 8 things about how shitty the book was, yet u said u deposited weekly still? Makes no sense to me. Play at shit books getting stiffed is gonna happen, just a question as to when. Never worth itComment -

#57Mark was the GM at Horizon when they got absolutely killed by me for mid 5-figures and by a huge group of Euros taking advantage of the bonyus for almost 200K.
He apparently doesn't believe in limiting players as he continually let me ride my heater for 3K/bet, and they were in huge financial difficulty. No idea how they got out of that one, except Heritage bought them out at the time.Comment -

Mark or whatever his name is was never a GM at Horizon. Alliance was on the same betting platform as www.wager.dm which uses Blr software.Comment -

#64Owner Mark
My sources in Costa Rica have obtained the name of the owner Mark of alliance along with photos.
Alliance, Mark, Frank, Irene, Michelle, Jennifer, et. al - You have neglected to contact me regarding the outstanding debt as an account holder of alliance. I am giving you 24 hours notice. If I do not hear from you, I will have no choice but to post the last name of the owner Mark and pictures will be posted here around kickoff of the NE / DEN game tomorrow. I will also provide information to the other sports forums along with the local authorities and as many of your contacts as possible
I want one thing - MY money that you stole from me. Outright theft. Respond soon and then you can provide the w u or m g control numbers with MY money and this matter will be considered resolved.
In case you think I am bluffing, the Mark's last name begins with the letter somewhere between A and I.Last edited by ALLIANCESTIFF; 01-18-14, 02:09 PM.Comment -
