#3does this often.
10 days ago it went from $1050 down to $850 and then the next day it was at $1150.
China said that banks can't use it yet but that it's legal for people to use it online. It's just how bitcoin works.
I remember when it went from $200 down to $80 and people were freaking out bigtime.Comment -

#7A friend of mines husband works (worked!) with a guy who bought a few thousand dollars worth of bitcoins several years ago. He recently quit his job and moved to South America.
I guess his investment ended up being worth millions.
Can't believe I didn't jump on this ship when it was sailing by. Ugh...Comment -

#11"Created by an unknown hacker or hackers known as Satoshi Nakamoto,"
This tells you exactly how credible the article is. No doubt BTC are currently very volatile but they were not created by hackers and I wouldn't go as far as saying they are crashing.Comment -

#15Thev govt should stop trying so hard to shut it down and use the millions it confiscated as a down payment towards their ridiculous debt. Bitcoin is going to survive in some form or another anyway...kind of like internet gambling, the drug and weapon trade so on and so forth.Comment -

#16Bitcoin isn't going anywhere because of what it is used for in the commerce sense. Volatile, absolutely, going away, not a chance.Comment -

#17What government? It's a virtual currency used internationally on a free internet with no central authority, you know, no Zionists running it. If merchants and citizens want to trade products and/or services for bitcoins (or anything else), they can do it no matter what any "governments" of any countries say. Governments can shut down exchanges that trade bitcoins for Federal Reserve Notes or any other authoritarian central bank notes, but whatever international police that you think exists can't shut down bitcoin because it's completely out of its control, which is why freedom loving people created it in the first place.
Thank goodness we still have people in this world who aren't scared little lambs who think governments can decide what you can and cannot do with your life, and your business, and your freedoms, and your right to trade products and services for something other than fiat interest bearing promissory notes run by a Jewish cartel.Comment -

#21I don't have any monies tied up in bit coin but I can promise you it won't go anywhere.. value may bounce a bit but it won't be banned…if you dig into deep web (exclusively Tor) it is ran on it. You can buy or trade anything and I mean ANYTHING in bit coin… how those people on there are making any sort of real money behoves me but I have heard of people who have accumulated hundreds of thousands in bitcoinsComment -

#27I must admit I have made a nice chunk of change playing the bitcoin market - I do agree it is very volatile therefor I tred very lightly when buying back in making sure its a level I would be happy holding BTC if it should have a small crash.
The reason for the volatility is only because its trying to find a footing and establish a price as with any stock that has a huge rise it must consolidate before going back up.
To the people that call BTC a fraud or some hacker scam well they are just uninformed. It doesn't surprise me as in most things the people who know the least seem to be the 1st to talk and do the most talking. Doing your research before spewing out mouth diarrhea on a forum will make you look like less like a moron.Comment -

#30ltc you don't need a Asic to get a decent hash rate either. I have 2x 7970 GPU's that get me 1350ish hash so when I'm not gaming it farms out around 1 LTC a day - currently at $31.111 on BTC-E exchange.Comment -
