    Is this supposed to happen?
Ok, I am somewhat new to betting and parlays and payouts. This my be a dumb question but I just hit a 3 team parlay and the payout doesn't add up.

    1) BET ID=271468733 Parlay (3 Teams)01/19/09 19:03 ETbet 5.00 to win 30.00 (paid 34.79) Result: Wager WonSuns(Phoenix) 87
    Celtics(Boston) 104
    01/19/09(20:10 ET)
    Celtics(Boston) -8.5
    Syracuse 60
    Pittsburgh 78
    01/19/09(19:10 ET)
    Pittsburgh -9
    Devils(NewJersey) 3
    Predators(Nashville) 1
    01/19/09(20:05 ET)
    Devils(NewJersey) -110

Am I unaware of some percentage that they take out or something? Looks to me like it should be 35...

Might have been that one of the three games was at -115 (or at another number) instead of -110, if so they calculate it differently.

34.79 is true odds for 3 -110 games. Lots of places, for whatever reason, treat hockey and baseball separately from retail parlays even when the line is -110 (which it often is on baseball totals). I have no idea why the ticket says bet 5.00 to win 30.00 though. If it actually says that, and then paid true odds (slightly less), you have a valid complaint.

It is possible that they calculate this differently, the best people to ask is the Customer Service of the book where you had this bet..

Sounds like you guys have nailed it with the NHL comment, but the ticket should pay what it says. Often times you'll find that asking live chat operators questions like this leads nowhere, they'll just search the FAQ guide and make educated guesses if they're not genuinely familiar with betting situations.
