You can start a parlay with say 3 legs, then choose to select to add 2 more legs that you can fill in later.
It allows you to parlay bets that are not on the board at the same moment in time.

Just a side note to this, if you start an open parlay at DSI, you have to call in to fill any open legs. I about went crazy trying to find where to fill the open spots. Not really a big deal but some people don't like to call in.

Actually you can only do 15 legs in an open parlay at heritage and you have 90 days to complete it online. Over the phone it is unlimited. 5dimes allows 25 legs in an open parlay online and there is no time limit to complete it. At 5dimes you can also include things like live wagers on different games and props such as 1st inning score in MLB.

Every book lets you do open parlays.
Make your bet, and then if it wins, bet your original bet along with its winnings on the next "leg".
It's the same damn thing. (Actually it's better, because you can make your second bet on another book that maybe has a better price.)
(P.s. Parlays aren't magic)
