Whether or not you have heard of him does not affect the point he is making. I hear him loud and clear. The United States did undergo a "rebellion" to get free from the British collar. The founding fathers were all about personal freedoms and keeping the government out of our lives. Unfortunately, after this first generation of immigrants died off, each successive generation has allowed the government to accumulate more and more power. This is the way things work. These successive generations did not live under the unbearable British rule, and did not have the same mind set as the founding fathers --- they thought perhaps government could solve their problems. and what point is he making?
he is comparing US gambling situation to Russian - I just happened to live in both countries and pretty familiar with the situation on both ends.
For example do you know that about 4 years ago, Moscow and every major city in Russia were scrubbed off of every fukking casino that there was out there (and there were thousands of them) and it's now illegal to gamble anywhere in Russia except 4 designated cities in the entire country (kinda like in US). Yet everyone still gambles online (kinda like in US).
I don't see that much of a difference between two countries in terms of the gambling goes...so I'm not sure what point he was trying to make.

Probably has something to do with the hypocrisy of America labeling itself as the "Land of the Free" --- when in reality the government has usurped any freedoms over the last couple of centuries.

what's the difference where you live. all goverments suck. just for different reasons. but a good point is made in that the country that shouts the loudest about thier freedom, does not have much.

I think USA governments (in the past and present) have a different freedom mentality.

The democracy and freedom born in Greece but amer'can democracy and freedom are different than other countries.
From 1920 to 1933 you had alcohol ban
Afro-american people could not go in to the restaurants in 60's and 70's...also they could not vote
All of american media (fox,cnn,nbc etc...whatever) says same things. they are like government's parrot.
maybe americans can't figure out but we observe that there are huge cencorship in american media.

there are a big fascism in USA and still american people says ''good and freedom country, we are number one''

The US has a great amount of freedom and a great quality of life. Unfortunately we are also becoming a nanny state and those two ideologies sometimes conflict. Legalized gambling and personal responsibility is an example of this conflict.
