2K with some pending futures. Holding out that SBR might use their influence/connections to help Ryan merge with a bigger book and salvage $$. I suppose that there is someone out there that would agree to use BI owed $$ as a deposit bonus match. Would likely have a roll but better than nothing. And, would be a chance for bigger book to get new clients and/or new $$. SBR could pitch in somehow

#38Mid four figures. Same thing happened with Actionbets a few years back. I got paid. But at least I could talk to the guy. His name was Aden. Jon Kreta has some guts apologizing here, and walking away. Does he think we're all pussies who don't know how to take care of things?Comment

#43Owed a sizeable rebate, I played and lost heavy their 4 months ago with promise of a nice rebate at season end.

In retrospect, I was very lucky. I do feel a lot of bonus whores/arbitrage players got burned here and it sucks, but such is this twisted game we all play.

Its called gambling for a reason and someones going to get burned always (book or player).Comment

#46798....thank God it wasn't more. This could have been MUCH worse.

On another note, I did email that address on betislands.mx and received the following response:

"There have been efforts to obtain secondary financial backing since the closing. As negotiations continue, I will be informing Betislands clients of any potential progress. - Ryan Rossi"

Not exactly spending that $$$ at this point, but like "Dumb and Dumber", so "you're saying there's a chance?" Basically, we are all eff'dComment

#50Never heard of Bet islands till I joined SBR about 5 months ago! Depositied money for one reason, SBR posters voted it one of top 5 favorite books and the other 4 I knew were very solid.

I can see why posters liked Bet Islands. The odds were so easy to scalp it was like they were novices. For instance I guess I bet with them their last day in business on the Jets Titan game. They had SCORE IN LAST 2 MINUTES 1ST HALF -150 &
5 Dimes had no score at 210.

1682 left there when they closed.Comment

 #55From me 2 days ago:

I'd just like you to confirm my balance for my records. I never got a screen shot of my balance, but I had $4201 in there. Not that I expect to get any of it back, but just in case the remote possibility is there, I'd like confirmation of my balance.

 From Ryan Rossi this morning:

 $2,726 (avail)$1,474 (pend)
 $4,200 (total)

There have been efforts to obtain secondary financial backing since the closing. As negotiations continue, I will be informing Betislands clients of any potential progress.Comment

#61Nobody ever seems to answer this directly, it seems it's all hearsay, people will say they heard of other people who are getting taken care of..or people will mention a book such as legends who is rumored to be interested..but if you reply asking for details as to what they heard.. no reply. I haven never seen anyone come in here with specifics about what they were offered and by whom which leads me to believe it's all BS.Originally posted by Tgordon777anybody scored some type of bailout anywhere?Comment

#68"scalping it out" of a book that wont pay is exactly the same as just making normal bets with the rest of your bankroll.Originally posted by ronaldWhy don't you guys just scalp it out?

It only gets your money out of the bad book in your mind.

Plus scalping is a really bad idea as you could easily go on tilt and lose much more/everything.Comment

If he comes up with a bailout, it will be at Jon's new shop and will probably require a deposit.

And then the scam just keeps going.Comment
