#2How big was the check? How long has it been frozen? Most banks will put a hold on a portion of some of the bigger checks for at least a couple days. Whether it comes from offshore, or your mom.Comment

#7Small and large banks will hold the funds on checks that are not local or that they do not recognize. My CU holds checks from Canada for 15 business days and out of state checks for 5 days. It is a huge PITA but the price of doing business I guess. You just have to wait it out.Comment

#9That is a different story then, I guess I misread your post. I suggest working with dsi to see if the check cleared on their end before working with the bank. Are you saying all of your funds in the account are frozen besides the amount for the check?Originally posted by grekosBofa credited my account for 2 weeks then took the money out.Comment

#26So you have positive experiences with the D.C.? From other posters I have heard that using Betpoints to withdraw via check seems to be the most efficient method to get money out of DSI.Originally posted by bobbywavesLook at their plastic withdrawal option & figure it out, it's not hard. #27Yes, positive experiences with this method. Most cost effective method available, faster than check, atm cash is better than wondering if a check will clear.Comment

#28Good to know, I am still hesitant about giving them my SS#, they said it may be possible to have the excluded if I contacted the D.C. department, but after hearing that the fees added up to a bunch, that it was not worth it. As long as my DSI checks continue to come in in the fashion they have (In US funds, and at more door within 2 days of removal from my account) I think I will stick with that method, but thanks for the input.Originally posted by bobbywavesYes, positive experiences with this method.
