BETISLANDS UPGRADE - Good, Bad, Ugly

The Bad:
NCAAF - No option to purchase points (buy the hook) on parlays. Previously I could purchase up to 2 points on a parlay.

This isn't meant to be all bad... I'm sure there are great new options as well. That's why it helps if everyone contributes. Is this upgrade better or worse?

Hi Bane,

Thanks for the post , I value the opinion and feedback of all our clients.

As of RIGHT now you may not see the full pros of the upgrade since we are working on getting them in place such as a new website , new betting engine.

However you can now see overnight lines on all mayor sports , larger selection in soccer wagering , more tracks on our racebook.

Our NCAFF football moneylines will be uploaded on all games as well .

I am a huge betislands fan but I was disappointed to see how much they cut their prop selection, especially for big games, with this new upgrade. Hopefully it changes.

I've always been a big betislands fan

Only thing that sucked was the late lines at times

Had a withdrawal sent out this past monday. Have been unable to get a tracking number to this point. My 1st withdrawl of the season, last year i always got this within a few days. By wednesday or thursday id say. Frustrating.

And they make me always keep my caps lock on.

Pros: good bonuses and most of the time quick payouts and the software is pretty good imo..

Cons: late lines, lack of ML's, constant CS revolving door, site down often, often unable to reach anyone on live chat, constant changes without prior notification like the monthly rebate program..

Not really a change since the upgrade, but their banking options are pretty poor, and if you ask about any future plans to support any common ewallets, or other methods, you get the feeling those questions gets dodged.

Good: Seems Betislands offered earlier opening lines for NCAAFB this Monday.

Bad: Early lines are only available straight up against the spread. No Parlays, Teasers, Moneylines etc.

Bad: There is a $200 limit on any wager for NCAAFB and NFL on Mondays. (Not sure if this is new for NFL??)

Having a major wagering issue that just came out of left field today:

Kelly: Hello, how may I assist you today?
Gimped:: Hey there
Gimped:: trying to place a bet on my account but it keeps saying max wager is 1000
Gimped:: but i have no wagers pending outside of a teaser
Gimped:: trying to get it fixed so i can place my bets
Kelly: Ok, which is the bet you're trying to place?
Gimped:: straight wagers on nfl and ncaa
Gimped:: and either way it says wager limit
Kelly: One sec
Gimped:: The Following Error Occurred: Max Wager Online Exceeded. Your Current Wager Limit is 1000 USD.
Kelly: Sir, those are your current limits. If you are looking to increase them you must email Jon at jon@betislands.ag
Kelly: He will look into your account
Gimped:: thats definitely not right, just yesterday i had teasers with northern illinois and still placed a straight wager of 1000 with no issues
Gimped:: so this doesn't make sense
Kelly: But the error you're showing me says that you're trying to place a bet over $1000, right?
Gimped:: no, just ANY straight wager
Kelly: Your current limit is $1000.
Gimped:: if i try to bet 500 on buffalo bills
Gimped:: i get same error
Kelly: I see, hold on.
Kelly: I checked with wagering, so far your limits are set up like that. If you'd like to increase them you must email Jon. Since you're using the Bills in the teaser, that's why the system is not letting you use them in a straight wager.
Gimped:: As of yesterday that's completely not how it was working. I had Northern Illinois in a teaser for 1000, a parlay for 250, AND straight bet for 1000 and had NO issues
Gimped: so unless my limit was just changed today??

Anyone else having phantom issues like this regarding wager limits being put in place or mysteriously raised?

There's zero reason to believe they won't pay you.....it's just all the extra bullshit people have to put up with to play there, imo of course.

Yup. Same here. Started Tuesday.
I emailed Customer service, got on chat. Jon said it's an error and he's working on it. So, I wanna give him an opportunity to resolve it before posting specifics.

It was *so* limiting that I faxed my ID to another book about 20 minutes ago and it's what prompted my first withdrawal.

No plans to abandon Betislands but if I can't wager, it's useless at the moment. Relieved I'm not the only one.

Bad: As quickly as they arrived, NCAAF moneylines have disappeared. You guys must have won too much $$$!! Some of the 9.5 spreads don't even have moneylines. Forget double digits.... we'd need a miracle for that (it's on you BabyJ).

UGLY - Site down during football season. Both sites (mx, ag). Why not have customer service extend hours to take phone bets? Why not send an email warning customers of potential outages? Why not upgrade/merge in the summer where there's less demand on the book & customers?

Good: Betislands offering freeplays due to outage. Just call 'em or go to live help and request yours. 5x rollover or more, some max cash-outs, your mileage may vary.

Bad: NCAAB. Lines are still late. This *would* be neutral as the lines have always been late. I was just under the impression they'd be up earlier. Don't expect overnight lines on College Basketball but when there not up early afternoon for 7pm games, it's inconvenient enough that I just make the play elsewhere so I don't forget later or have to constantly check back.

I'm not sure how many major changes there have been this year as I've only been a customer 2-3 months. There have been many changes lately and most of them seem to present some difficulty for customers. Jon addresses some of the growing pains in: What the Hell Happened to Betislands.
