We definately over-rated them after the win over Melb Victory. Beating MV shoudlnt be considered anything postitive at all...

MELBOURNE Victory sacked Mehmet Durakovic today and will make an official announcement at 11am Kevin Muscat has been appointed interim coach with former Perth Glory and Australian Institute of Spot coach Ron Smith his assistant.
Smith was due to join Victory a month ago in a part-time consultancy role. That never eventuated but he has now been brought into the fold.
Victory's board will continue to search for a long-term coaching replacement, but if the club's results improve under the former captain he could take over on a permanent basis.
Muscat retired at the end of last season after a long and decorated career.
Assistant coach Steve Mautone has retained his job and he and Muscat took the players for a closed session today.

Victory chairman Anthony Di Pietro and managing director Richard Wilson will hold the press conference at AAMI Park.

According to Mark Bosnich, Muscat had too much say while Mehmet was coach... i cant see how he is gona turn this team around. Leijer said on foxsports this team is down on confidence

yeh i agree. I wrote that before i knew muscat is the new coach.

What are A-League teams like after a coach has been sacked?

What are people's thoughts on Adelaide vs Brisbane? I haven't seen the lines yet (deliberately, still researching) but looking to go with Adelaide, with maybe a hight scoring game as well.

I'm pleased to see that Muscat seems to be a stop-gap until a full time coach is found. Looks like we should know who the full time replacement will be within 48 hours. Read in a few places today that Postecoglou is on the radar, really can't see him leaving Brisbane Roar...Farina might be a good idea though?

Either way, it's not all on the coach. Victory boys need to start acting like a team and showing some real commitment. I wouldnt touch them yet, learnt my lesson enough already this year.

Lookingtostart, Look at Adelaide, I never expected it but they have been playing v well since Kossie took over. It seems a pretty common trend in most sports that first game with new coach will produce a good result. I am not a big subscriber of this theory though, i prefer to see what changes are made, etc.

Adelaide/Brisbane - I wouldnt touch either side until i see squads, but like the over. It's not too juiced at the moment, good play IMO.

I think Victory -0.25 1H might be worth a shot anyway. Think about it, Jets has been worthless away (0-1-6) and are missing some key players. Why I'm considering taking just the first half is because Victory has not won a second half in 14 games(!), but we all can remember all the great starts they have to many games. Comparing the lines -0.25 and -0.75 makes the choice easy for me if I'm going to bet on the Victory. I can mention that Jets have not won any first half away.
In a heavy schedule it's also worth a lot to play at home turf.

What are your thoughts on this play?
