"He chose to do it his way, which I think made it a better game. Had he chosen to step in and apply the laws strictly, which hasn't been done the whole World Cup to be fair to Howard, we could have ended up with probably eight Dutch players on the pitch.
"As it's a World Cup final I'd give his performance a nine [out of 10]."

You do realize that Graham Poll was sent home in Germany for not knowing how many yellow cards constitute a red card offence for 1 player right? English refs are horrible.

Im sure his opinion is invalid. Webb was a disaster both ways. He should not have been at the centre of attn.

the reason the ref was bad was because he was uneven with his cards. He gave De Jong a yellow which should have been a red. But he also didn't give Iniesta a card for a cheap shot on Van Bommel, most likely a red card because there was no intent on ball. Xavi got a yellow for delay of game but Robben didn't which should have been his second yellow so a red card. Heitinga didn't deserve either yellow card but his first one was similar to Puyol trying to pull down Robben on his second breakaway. Could have been a red on Puyol. Both did not get called for a foul on the play (which was the right call) but Heitinga got a yellow? He just needed to be consistent in his calls. Webb's only other fault was he gave out to many cards for the flops.

The only reason why Holland were not with 9 men by half time was because it was a final, handing out reds in the final in the 1st half will ruin the game, and the ref will be blamed for it, im at a loss to see anybody saying Netherlands were unlucky, they rode there luck to the final and it ended, should of picked up a pile of reds along the way as well. Even "Cruyff blasts Dutch team's 'dirty tactics" http://www.independent.ie/sport/socc...s-2255903.html

I laugh at those who say that the referee was in favor of Spain, when Spain has been the most injured team throughout the tournament long.
Spain has received more kicks than any team, not pitados penalties and cards that do not saw the opponents.
In the end the Netherlands said they would go take the ball to Spain as all the teams in this world (which only echo Germany) but at 5 minutes and had thrown them 3 times and saw Spain and could not be spent kicking, Van Bommel in the action should be expelled Primea tackles from behind with no option to play the ball and karate too so low countries, would have ended with two men less.
The second part would have to make expelled Puyol if Robert and Heitinga but also and all this without the penalty that does not pitaron Xabi.
So who wants to see another game to follow with the bandage on the eyes. The two best teams in length were Spain Germany.
                        Viva España .
