You need to study formations to be able to bet soccer. If teams play with one forward and 5 midfielders the game will be low scoring. So place a bet on the under and take a nap. Then wake up 2 hrs later and call your bookie to collect. No need to hate the game.

I don't know if this post is directed at me, but I love watching the game! and more often than not I would bet on games I can watch rather than bet on ones that I can't.

And that's a bit of a big generalisation about the formation, 4-5-1 switching to 4-3-3 is a popular formation these days and produces lots of goals!

thats the only problem with soccer.., sometimes teams play too much defense.. therefore is hard to watch a good game if bioth teams are conservative....

thats what happened to france and uruguay.... after the fist games from all grups.., the games will be better, teams will be forced to win in ordern to qualify to the next round.

By the way..., also lost the bet...

I love my football (soccer to you guys) and I love watching nice defensive plays but the Uruguay France game was a shit game.

It's not about liking soccer or not, it was a shit game pure and simple. The fact that it ended up goalless had more to do with both teams lack of impetus in attack rather than the teams executing solid defensive plays.

Put aside making money on the game etc, and it was a waste of my 2 hours

I totally agree with you. I was watching the France/Uruguay with a bunch of my buddies and they even kept saying it was a shit game. It was terrible effort on France's part but I was expecting anything more then an sub par effort. Uruguay had to play more conservative which they did so. I'm sure they'll be plenty of more exciting upcoming matches ahead.

I will give you guys the benefit of the doubt. Like I said, I don't hate soccer at all, and I have enjoyed games; I just get really frustrated and upset watching no offense for 90 minutes, like that game.

Let's hope for some great games here, starting with U.S.A/England this afternoon!

(As for my contribution to the "order of the best sports" debate, I'm not gonna rank every sport, but I know that my favorite two are 1. American Football (by a lot) 2. Basketball.)
