Something i was just thinking about, i know today's game was an over, but i feel like i haven't seen many over totals this entire cup. (now i haven't gone back and added them up, just seems to be that way)

for all the complaining about the ball and being hard for the keeper to see and contain there just haven't been a ton of high scoring matches; germany's 4-0 and portugal's 7-0 are the only one's standing out. Now FIFA has acknowledged there is a problem with the ball and they will investigate it after the tournament, but won't make changes before then.

a lot of the players had complaints about the ball being to light or it just flying to high when shooting and crossing, so that might have to do with the lack of scoring...but who knows..after 3 games all the teams shouldve PLENTy of enough time to adjust ...we are starting to see some free kick goals now

Dont know yet goat but your giving the usa too much credit. They arent a very good team and they played in a very weak group.

You can only beat who is put in front of you and the Americans topped the group, there's nothing else they could have done!! Ask any Englishman before the tournament started and they would have been disappointed to not get 9 points (and therefore top the group easily) so America did well in my eyes. USA were better against England and came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 to Slovenia (well actually they beat them if it wasn't for the ridiculous disallowed goal) and dominated against Algeria. I'm not sure why people are underestimating USA so much . They got to the final of the Confeds cup last year (and were leading 2-0 in the final against Brazil before losing), topped their qualifying groups and topped this world cup group.

I can't see anything other than an American win today. Ghana hasn't shown anything so far and player-for-player, USA are a better team!!

yeah what can we say though? they tied it and then sat back. korea was the better team for big stretches of the match but i hand it to uruguay for getting it done. im really dissapointed with the whole bracket to be honest. this section has the easiest ride to the semis

You can't deny the group was easy. I know that you can talk about that disallowed goal vs. Slovenia but in the same way you can talk what if Robert Green didn't make a fluke and England won. What then? Usa might take 3rd place and do not get through to the next round. Better not to talk ifs.
England are not themselves as well, they play shit at times. I remember LB saying that 2010 is not English teams year neither in Euro cups nor WC. You were right bro, I never saw them so weak.

I think the ball b.s is an excuse. Suarez has the goal of the tournament in my opinion. That goal brought back memories of when Fabio Grosso scored against the Germans in 06 in the semis Congrats Uruguay backers and supporters!

Are you talking about Goal of the Tournament wise? I think this Suarez's was better then Herandez goal, I say theres been better then that. The Donovan goal he was almost in the net when he shelfed it. My honest opinion Suarez's goal was beautiful and the timing on it to take the lead in the Round of 16 makes it even better. Theres a ton of soccer left to be played so we'll see in the end.
