They may make it to the Final Four actually... with a bit of luck and heart like they've been showing.

Once they get past Ghana which I expect them to they will play the winner of the Uruguay/South Korea game. Winner makes the final four. Correct me if I'm wrong. That's not too hard of a route eventhough Uruguay been playing great soccer.

They got 2 goals taken away that were false offside calls. They were goals.

If those 2 goals counted.. USA would have ended up with 6 goals (1 less than Argentina for most overall)

They know how to score. They'd be deadly if they had a world-renowned striker though

I can see it both ways. Losing right away to Ghana or beating a couple teams they should AND getting a little luck against a couple they shouldn't beat to go farther.

Can say I'd be surprised unless they get to the final game.

us. team was quite lucky so far. got opponents goalkeeper to release the ball into the goal, had algeria hit the post instead of goal, got goal vs algeria in last minute... you can't deny element of luck in these, can you?

as for 2 offiside goals, i only saw one after the free kick which was erroneously given anyway.

having said all this, i like these guys' play. donovan is awesome. you need some luck and you have to know how to catch it. i look forward to next us game!

no, not garbage at all...
they played lots of long-ball, less combinatorics towards opponents goal. for such play, you need tough players who are able to receive the ball and attack (which usa has) and some luck (which they had in group stage but not in f16).
i enjoy watching them... good luck next time

Not garbage but face the truth: they were outplayed by Ghana for a long time in the match, especially in the 1st half

Yes but in the second half they had more scoring chances than Ghana had the entire game. Jozy in the box could be called a penalty on any given day (I think it was because while the hand fighting/body bumping wasnt a foul, when the Ghana guy went to the ground his legs tripped jozy as he was about to shoot - clear foul) Feilhaber had a nice chance 1 on 1 with the goalie, Bradley inexplicably decided to flash a flat footed shot across goal instead of take a few touches toward goal inside the box.
