Two teams on the lower end of the conference table. Histon concedes 2 times as many goals on away travels as they score. Its gonna be tough to get this over but i think its gonna happen. Im a degen

I took Barrow -0.5 on this one.
Think there'll be goals but I normally just play spreads because I have a much better record in these types of bets (Asian handicap).

Sportslover are you familiar with these two teams? I have Barrow on 1,7 and over 2,5 at 1,80 ... barow is in great form right now, they are missing Jason Walker (red card), Histon is without Adama Bygravea, are these two key players ... ? Any tip would be great.

I am quite familiar with Barrow, I have links in Cumbria and am a Carlisle fan but also keep tabs on the other major local Cumbrian sides, Barrow and Workington.
Jason Walker is a good striker but Barrow also has 3 other strikers who have all played in the Football League, Chadwick, Blundell and McEvily, all of whom are recent signings to the club. Walker is a good player but Barrow have plenty of good players to fill his spot. Walker has scored around 15 goals this season but at least half of them have been penalties. I don't think his absense will affect the team too much.
Barrow has a lot of former football league players in their squad at the moment so their definately favourites against Histon, a part-time side that faces a long trip north to play Barrow. Histon is located near Cambridge and its quite a long journey up to Cumbria which is the county next to the Scottish border so Barrow has a big home team advantage for this one. Barrow has players like Nick Chadwick and Gregg Blundell (both recently signed from Chester after Chester went broke) who have extensive Football League experience. Players like Robin Hulbert, Simon Wiles, Lee McEvily, Phil Bolland and Gareth Jellyman also have a lot of professional Football League experience.
Barrow also has a lot of recent new signings, they've benefited from Chester folding so they've certainly got some fresh talent that has joined them, which is always a bonus at the end of a long campaign. As a result, they've got a good amount of squad depth and can cope with the injuries and suspensions that you see at this time of the season. A lot of the new signings also have short-term contracts so they'll be keen to impress and get themselves longer deals or a move to a better club. The new signings should also help to move the club away from the relegation zone because the players they have brought in have a lot of quality, I'm actually surprised that Barrow was able to attract these players to the club! Although, making the FA Trophy Final probably helped to attract some of them.
As for Histon, I don't know a whole lot about them, just a bit of general knowledge of their squad and form this season. Their not a bad side away from home (5 away wins, not bad for a bottom half of the table side) but its a long trip and Barrow has a clear advantage in terms of quality of player, in my opinion anyway.
Both of these teams have, at times, dodgy defences but neither team are prolific scorers which is why I would stay away from the Over. Yes, Barrow should knock a couple of goals past an inferior Histon side facing a long road trip but will Histon score against Barrow? I can see Barrow winning this one 2-0 and keeping a clean sheet, the Over is too much of a risk here, in my opinion.
The odds for Barrow have also fallen dramatically at Pinnacle, I got them at ML -108 which was probably about 7-8 hours ago but the spread has gone from -0.5 -108 to -0.5 and -1 +101 and the ML is now at -131.
Barrow ML is definately the play in this game, in my opinion. Good luck.

Very nice write up, Sportslover. After scoreless 1st half, in-play odds for Barrow are quite good. I might have to go for it.

Thanks guys, its often these small leagues where we can get an edge with a bit of personal knowledge that others may not be fully aware of.
Its a shame that this game ended 0-0, was pretty confident on the Barrow pick but unfortunately everything doesn't always go to plan. Seems that I was right about Barrow keeping a clean sheet but they just couldn't get the goal that they needed to win the game.
