    Ajax rolling up on WHC
Ajax destroying inferior competition in the Dutch cup. Not sure if it's a road game or a neutral site, but this is ugly.

Total set at 4, Ajax was -3 (-150) and ML -2000 on Bodog.

No goals in the first 17 minutes, but then 6 in the next 16. All by Ajax.

I think the total was set a little low for this one.

They should have stopped the game at the 60th minute! Ajax should be fined for beating a team by that margin.

Suarez was busy running up the score by himself.

                        27, 33, 53, 59, 86, 89

They really should have pulled the starters at halftime.

Pantelic, Aissati, and Bakircioglu had two goals apiece.

The concept of not running up the score on a beaten opponent is almost non-existant in soccer.
In league play, it makes sense as GD counts. In the cup, not so much.

also, there arent very many stats a soccer player can accumulate. pad your goals = pad your salary when you transfer to the big leagues.

there's less scoring in soccer, but the same concept applies everywhere.

In football or basketball, you also want to keep scoring to improve your stats.

i think that this "stop scoring" concept aplies when two teams of the same value class face...like spurs a few weeks ago, aginst wigan i think...9-1...that's not a normal result...u may never know how hard u piss off a team that you know that you will meet for sure in the near future and how will they react in the next match
the same is available for the match serbia - romania 5-0 2 months ago i think.....now, serbia is a good, great squad, and romania is changinf the generation...but who knows what happens in 5 years, let's say ?

You can't really take Dutch league goal scoring stats at face value. They love their goals over there and everyone seems to be a goal scoring machine.

The likes of Kuyt, Kezman, and Alves were all scoring at a ridiculous clip while playing in the Eredivisie.

That was my point. Those players had stats that didn't underly their actual goalscoring ability. They couldn't transfer the goalscoring skills to the english league. In Alves and Kezman's case, they were big flops.

I think the only exception in recent years has been RVN, who is after all one of the greatest finishers of our time.

The Dutch style of football encourages teams to attack and defend together, the empahsis is on offense and goals.

Those players were so hyped up but couldn't handle solid English defenses and teams that could deal with crosses and set pieces. Another problem with the Dutch league is the bad goalkeeping, we all saw what the so-called next big thing Gomes is like

However, to be honest the Dutch league has produced some of the best attacking players in the recent era, legends like Ronaldo, Romario, Larson, Gullit, Rijkard, Van Basten etc there are so many names the list could go on and on, all these players made their name there.

Holland is like a football factory, they have some of the best youth academies and satellite clubs around the world, they produce and sell, so many of the players in the top teams in Europe started of in Holland.

I think the only exception in recent years has been RVN, who is after all one of the greatest finishers of our time.

The greatest gift to football was given to us by Rinus Michels and his concept of total football.
IMHO, Holland also produced the most creative footballer of all time in Cruyff.
