TURKEY V GEORGIA

The debutants Georgia come into their opening game in really good form with 5 wins 1 draw and 1 loss. The one loss being to Spain in Spain. Turkey on the other hand are winless in their past 5 games having scored only 3 goals and conceding 10. The only non European referee Fecundo Tello averages 4.63 YC per game. He calls a PK in 50% of his games and in 22% of his games there is a sending off. Those are by far the highest number amongst all the participating referees.

First Austria and now Czech Republic in giving up own goal. Austria should’ve at least tied their game and CR would currently be up 1-0. But how they are even tie in this game with Portugal leading ball possession 69% to 31% is beyond me.

Round one was a horror show, time to right the ship here. I had the Croatia match here pegged at 1.25/-400 prior to the tournament. Stating the obvious here, they need the win as they lost to Spain and have Italy on tap. Albania got lucky versus a sub par Italy team I need them to finish with zero points.

DJack, thx for all your posts. Some of the Round One results have been wacky.

That said, I think this tournament is really shaping up. The finishing from ROM was amazing.

Even in defeat, I'd say that teams like Georgia/Austria showed something. The BEST handicapper is the one who responds to situations. With that in mind, there has to be some value on the board for the Round Two matchups.

You think Mbappe plays in Round Two?

I would say that over 2.5 in Croatia match would be solid as they will not only need to win but slam as many goals as they can during that process after getting destroyed in first match. They will be on the attack until the final whistle in an attempt to make up the goal differential.

GERMANY V HUNGARY

The line here got shorter because of Germany's dominant first round win but that was versus a crappy Scotland team. The last 3 head to head meetings here Hungary are unbeaten including a 1-0 win in Germany and the two other were draws. I think Hungary can play with the Germans and the line is too inflated.

Keeping it simple here. Scotland have only won one game in the last 10 and that was to Gibraltar. Switzerland have only lost once in the last 15 games and looked dominant versus Hungary.

And now Albania to the list. This would’ve been a tie 1-1 score except for the own goal. Croatia is not as strong as I thought they would be but will get a win today.

Hungary seems to always find one against Germany and if there is anything I know about soccer it is this: a big offensive explosion is always followed by a lack of goals... Having said all that Germany wins 3-1. BTTS Yes, over 2.5 goals, and Germany ML. That home soil is fertile for Germany.
