Villarreal won the 1st leg in Spain by scoring on their only shot on goal. Although the British commentators would have you believe that Villarreal were the better team throughout the match , the stats prove the exact opposite. Bayern held 60% of the possession , shots at goal 21 - 11 and shots on goal 4 - 1 ( the sole shot being an excuse me goal that hit a Villarreal player while going wide ). Villarreal did beat a banged up Juventus side in the previous round , but that win broke up what would have been 4 straight road losses to the likes of Levante , Cadiz and Osasuna . I expect to see Bayern pressing the issue from the opening whistle and coming away with a win that advances them.

Its an uphill battle for Chelsea today, looking to overturn a 3 - 1 deficit. Pressing the issue against a team like Real Madrid, on home soil, is a very scary formula for success. I think Viniscus and Benzema will find plenty of space on the counter. Should be another entertaining affair.Comment -
