Val Demings is 4-1, she has a law enforcement background, is from Florida, and husband is a police officer.

Stacey Abrams was a popular pick, but hasn't received any calls from the Biden campaign and it looks like she's out.

Warren is white, so she's probably out.

Susan Rice is 9-1 and receiving some attention and K. Lance bottoms is similar odds. Dont really like either one.


Who does everyone like for the pick here? Demings was great value at 13-1, and although its a little late to jump in, I think Val Demings might be the pick, but anything could happen.

Especially with Orlando PD's reputation for excessive force and paying millions in fines with her as chief.

Harris from SF California won't help in the Rust Belt, and her reputation as a prosecutor won't help either.

If I was confident in the Democrats not screwing up everything they touch, I would bet huge on Kamela Harris. It has to be a black woman, we know that.

They need someone in the Senate with name recognition? Val Demmings? Stop it. Nothing but media spin.

The only wild card I see is Susan Rice. I think Biden would like to pick her, but he can't. Two direct people from the Obama team is not the way to go.

I got Harris at +150. Harris is now down to +110. That still is a gift.

I agree. I think Biden would prefer Rice, because he knows her well and likes her. But I think his team feels Harris is the safer choice. I don't think Rice has ever run before, so that is an unknown.

Presidential hopeful Joe Biden has narrowed his list of potential running mates down to three women, The Associated Press has reported.

Elizabeth Warren is considered the top contender on his shortlist, along with former national security adviser Susan Rice and Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif.
Experts think Warren can appeal to energetic liberal Democrats while Biden pulls in the more moderate members of the party. But since both are in their 70s, neither would bring any youth to the ticket.
As a former United Nations ambassador, Rice comes with foreign policy experience. But her time working as a diplomat was marred by lack of leadership in 2012, when four Americans were killed and 10 others were wounded in separate attacks by Muslim extremists in Benghazi, Libya.

Then there's Harris, the former California attorney general, who once promoted an anti-truancy program that aimed to prosecute the parents of kids who skipped school. Her past may not serve Biden well, as he works to outrun a past filled with advocacy for tough-on-crime policies.
Other contenders such as Florida Rep. Val Demmings, New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms could give Biden a person of color to run with while also satisfying his promise to choose a woman as a running mate.
Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and 2018 Democratic Georgia gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams were all viewed as viable contenders, but now their chances have winnowed.
Klobuchar, in particular, has been haunted in recent weeks by past performance as a prosecutor in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Her critics claim she failed to prosecute police misconduct during her time in office. Those accusations were revived after George Floyd, a black man, died in police custody in Minneapolis on May 25.

I can’t imagine trump is worried about looking racist. Seems like looking racist is one of his main campaign strategies
