#142OK kelly, I'll just assume you fell out of your chair and hit your head midway through your post.
So you are fine with taxing the poorest of poor people on every single purchase they make with a high corp tax? And you are obviously fine with jobs fleeing for low tax(cost) havens. Yea, might as well make the corp tax 60% by your thinking. Better yet, they might as well be state owned.Comment -

goods cheap? Cheap labor.
It's not taxes why companies leave, it's labor costs. They can move out of the country, manufacture their goods
at very low labor costs and bring them back duty free. Win, win.
Most corporations pay little in federal tax after deductions. They probably pay high state and local. NY was offering
corporations no tax for 10 years to draw in corporations.
Trump is codelling corporations instead of getting tough on them like he campaigned on.
Carrier is an example. They got a huge tax cut and are still leaving, because the workers are union and are sick of
dealing with them and their demands. If Trump was tough, he would say tax the fuk out of them if they bring their
goods back like he said at the beginning.
Will consumer cost of goods be cheaper now that corps are getting a tax cut? Maybe, but I doubt it.Comment -

#144Adding. Corporations hate people. Don't want to deal with them. Always calling off sick, getting pregnant, prima donnas,
vacation time, paying for their health insurance, adding to their 401k's, yadda yadda yadda.
They are automating and like my company did, buying equipment to do away with people no matter how much it costs,
because they can appreciate the costs (tax write off) over 5 years.
Repubs hate people too, because the corporations hate people and they give to their campaigns as seen by the
partisan tax bill.Comment -

#145If you just learn a single concept from our interaction, let's make it this one. And for background I ran a company that moved jobs out of the US, lots of them.
No company wants to leave the US. Doing business in China or Mexico is brutal. Local politicians are openly corrupt, infrastructure is crap, banking is a throw back to the stone age. Could easily list 20 material reasons but you get the point.
Companies leave because they are scared they can not compete with competitors who have a lower overall cost. In my 40 years in business I never had anyone come up and say I want to leave the US and move to a polluted shthole in China. We hate moving but we have no choice.
So it's total cost, not simply cheap labor. Excessive regulation and high taxes tilt the equation. We will never pay $1 a day like China or $15 a day like Mexico. But we should do everything possible to eliminate as much costs as possible. Instead of surrender.Comment -

Whether it's moving jobs overseas to compete or to layoff thousands of workers, if a couple of high profiles do it,
everyone else follows.
On the positive side of tax cuts and regulations, bonuses and wage increases for workers. On the negative side,
companies are shutting down and laying off thousands. A win for some, a loss for others. Time will tell of the real
benefits or the real drawbacks.Comment -

#149China and Mexico are extremely pro business to the point they cheat and steal intellectual property. They will bend over backwards to attract business. Our gov is exactly opposite. Our gov obstructs business at every turn and treats business as the enemy.Originally posted by rkelly110All of what you say makes sense and proves my point that I've made often. If Dems and Repubs would put its working class first like China does we could accomplish all goals and more. Dante and D2 hint at the solution, we need a more progressive indv tax code. Why should Roy Bacon and D2 pay the same tax % as Donald Trump? Is that fair? But at the same time we need our gov to help its working class and that means help the businesses that employ them.Comment -

Dems need a moderate to emerge to have any chance. And the Dem base needs to recognize a liberal or socialist has no chance. A moderate from the midwest might.Comment -

#1652020 US Presidential Election- https://www.5dimes.eu/BbGameSelection.aspOriginally posted by RoyBaconBernie is currently the favorite, leading a large field on Predictit to be the Dem 2020 nominee.
I think the only current contender on the list that has a shot is Biden. He can sway back the working class vote that elected DT.
Dems would be smart to find a moderate. So far none on the list.
101 Donald Trump wins Presidential Election +190 105 Mike Pence wins Presidential Election +1000 107 E.Warren wins Presidential Election +1200 109 Kamala Harris wins Presidential Election +1200 111 B.Sanders wins Presidential Election +1500 All candidates below 20 to 1 odds are listed above:113 Joe Biden wins Presidential Election +1800

#170I like sander's lie about universal healthcare saving US $17 trillion when the facts show deadweight costs would cost us as much as $1.5 trillion a year.
Guy is a pro con artist and he is starting to get into his groove. I'm sure he is probably dying inside for not doing this sooner considering he is old now. But, he sure is enjoying the ride.
