A woman we know has a husband with severe health issues. But they are both Trumpers.

My wife, an MD, has been begging them trying to get then to understand the magnitude of the growing COVID-19 epidemic, trying to get them to know that the husband is at high risk of dying if he gets it. Has tried repeatedly.

Here are the responses she has heard (yes, they are all self-contradictory):

they say:
a. It's a hoax.
b. All places reporting sickness are blue states, and theyre lying. (Theyre not all blue states.)
c. Democrats are infecting themselves.
d. This is a chinese problem, & we're not Chinese.
e. Everyone saying this is serious are anti-Trump and lying..
f. A vaccine is almost ready, so there is no reason to worry about it.
g. It's been isolated. (In China, they believe)
h. WHO is a bunch of foreigners who hate trump for standing up for America. So they are lying to hurt him....
i. It's not a serious disease. In fact, people can go to work with it! It's less serious than a cold.

This is not going to change until Trumpers figure out a way to blame democrats for the growing epidemic.

In the meantime, they will be infecting people everywhere....


I'm not sure why I tell this story.

I suppose just to underscore how terrible this situation is, because we have untold millions who are delusional and listening to a maniac that an epidemic isn't real.
