I'm very impressed with Dallas this year but more on the offensive side. Taking down the Giants week 1 should give people pause - this is a very good rivalry. Giants just don't get the respect they should, and people will come back with the "yeah the Giants always start out slow" argument. Don't tell me they didn't want that game. I'm not saying Dallas is the team to beat, but they've got a ton of potential, and I loooove that the Cowboys put laid down the law with D. Bryant (curfews, escorted to and from practice facility, no strip clubs/bars if he wants to keep his job). This may well be Romo's best year. Just a ton of weapons on offense even in spite of TE health issues. I'd take Dallas overs and spreads early before people catch on.

What I love best is Kevin Ogletree finally getting his chance as the 3rd WR fulltime. We saw what he did against the Giants. Granted it was again 1 game, however I see a ton of potential in him. This makes Dallas's offense that more dangerous with the talented Austin and Bryant as the 1-2, and Murray doing his thing in the backfield.

haha not hating at all... they have a good d and good offense too... but there is honestly noway they are top 3 this season in yards or points defensively..

Yeah, there is simply to much fire power in the NFC East for any team to have a top ranked defense.

You're winning this thread? They're 18th in points against. That's the only number that matters at the end of the day.

It's yards allowed wizzle, not points against. Their points against more than half are from offensive turnovers. D's go by yards allowed per game. That's how it is.

I realize that is the statistic that is used for Total Defense but none of it means shit unless you can stop the other team from scoring.

When Romo throws 3 picks a game it's hard not to allow points. If you've watched this season so far we both know Dallas is one of the top 3-7 defenses in the league for sure. They're stacked this year. It's hard to sustain drives against Dallas this year. I think they are probably one of the best in the league on 3rd down as well.

OK well I'm not going to argue with you about it. I think they have a pretty good defense. Anytime you've got a player like DeMarcus Ware you're always going to be dangerous. It's a shame they lost Sean Lee.

Even if they were fully healthy, I doubt they'd be top 5. If fully healthy, they could have probably been a top 8 defense. No chance they would have been better than the Bears, 49ers, and probably not better than the Steelers and Seahawks.

Injuries to Sean Lee, Bruce Carter and their safeties have hurt them on defense.
